Katbran CAD...look closely, some of the mountings and settings clearly don't fit the stones

Those look heavy. Gorgeous, but heavy. I need ear shots, which I realize you don't have, but I would need to see ear shots.

If you click the link to her website, you can see the earrings without rubies in the second photo down on a model.

Thanks GemGeek. I don't know what kind of earlobe pushups you have to do to wear those, but I want to learn. The model's lobes are supporting those earring just fine.

Usually, this would bother me too, however, in this case I think the flash of the gold behind the pearls adds to the look creating almost like a halo effect. To my eye, it looks like there are some solder joins between the bezels, but in any regards, they certainly are lovely!!!

If you set them up with plaster, then they can all be soldered in one go. Still fiddly but not as bad as it seems. But, yes, I think CAD as well.

The pearl cups are really bothering me. Some of them are much too large for the pearl and none of them seem to have the curvature necessary to support the pearl, making it more likely that a pearl will fall or even that the post will snap, since the pearl can rock. It is specially noticeable in the pearls in the stud part of the earrings.

ETA - I was looking at these on her website, where there is a straight on view of a similar pair. It seems like the effect is quite deliberate to create, as JP said, a halo effect. It still bothers me. The effect could have been achieved with a proper pearl cup on the halo discs.

Wow! I was so focused on the rubies, I neglected to look at the posts. Now that I have, yes, it really bothers me too! The earrings look fabulous, but too heavy for my ears.
