Finally I've had a chance to photograph a few ways I wear this rope. The possibilities are endless - these are only a few variations!

So, here there are - paired with tin cups, pins, pendants and SS strands...all 136 inches worth!!

WOW, that's just fabulous ... love the antique pieces mixed in! The pendant with the yellow stones, surrounded by pearls ... is that an enhancer? Did you add the enhancer bail, or did it come like that? I've been looking for an enhancer setting that would fit over a center pearl on a graduated necklace

Wwwwoooooo so LOVELY! All the combinations are awesome, and I particularly like the one mixed with the larger WSS and smaller pearl combo!

Love all the looks! How did you attach the pendant with the citrine (guessing that it's some sort of yellow quartz/citrine...gorgeous) ?

Thank you everybody for your kind words! I do find this rope so versatile and fun to play with. I sometimes wonder if the flapper who owned this rope is watching me play with her pearls, AND what the rope had seen when she wore it in the 1920's!

CathyKeshi, the citrine enhancer is a Cartier piece my dad bought from a true Lady in northern England. I believe originally it was a pin, but she had the enhancer placed many years prior. Back then I suspect pearls were not as large as they are today - it won't fit on anything larger than 9-10mm pearl.

Stunning! Love the different looks - your mabe ring could always be adapted to wear with the rope if you don't like it as a ring!

Greetings all - itís been a while since Iíve posted!
So I finally decided I must restring my akoya flapper rope! My mom doesnít remember if she had it restrung when she had it. The original owner my dad bought it from had it restrung once since the early 1920ís. Itís definitely time. Theyíve yellowed throughout the decades, but a nice bath in Dr Bonnerís soap might brighten them up a bit - considering their age they have a good luster. I need encouragement- please wish me luck!!
