Purranha, I particularly like the cabochon ring you have. The Wallace Chan topaz looks exquisite but I'm afraid I'm quite careless and might chip it if I wear one! Nice work of art, nevertheless.

Perlas - are you gonna wait for us to see your sapphire collection lol? what about other semi-precious?
My Wallace Chan ring actually has a pretty low profile, so it feels "safer" than a lot of my other rings that sits higher and get banged into more easily. So it's really not bad at all - just "looks" delicate because it is carved and all.

Love everyone's stash here and please post more!!!

Purranha. You seem to love blue sapphires.

Here is a very low key bezel setting design of Burmese sapphires with the coveted royal/cornflower blue color.

    image.jpg

I will have more to show if I will have some sapphires made into jewelry one day. Maybe someday.

For semi-precious stones, my most recent purchase is a Baltic Amber rope.

And back when I have time as a lowly beader, I created this choker made from dyed gold FWP keshis, ruby rondelles, gold beads, garnets, aquamarines, ametrines, and smoky quartz briolettes.

Hmm I don't think I like blue sapphires more than emeralds or rubies. It is just accidental groupings of my photo lol.

Soooo, are most your pieces purchased as loose stones and then you get them set or is it half half (with some already finished pieces from jewelers)?

Most are finished jewelry. But I do have some stones that I take to jewellers or goldsmiths to set sometimes like if I have my own jewelry design or stuffs that are not readily available in the market like pearl enhancers.

Those stones in you hand look like you stuck your hand into the river and plucked these gems out of the water. Gorgeous photos everyone!

    Big honking amethyst, because PURPLE.

There's a diamond in there, too, although it's hard to tell.
I love the custom chains this jeweler does.
It turns a pendant into a necklace, if that makes any sense.
