I only skimmed this topic, but did anyone mention matching earrings? A simple drop would still be appropriate for business settings. If you order them all at the same time, PP can match to the...
I remember reading a long time ago, powerful women wear pearls because it's the jewelry that does not detract from what they're saying. An observer mentally notes 'pearls,' but doesn't focus on them....
Marc Jacobs is also wearing white pearls. According to Google, these male celebrities are wearing Mikimoto. Mikimoto has a new ad campaign / collection, "comme de garcons."
I really enjoyed the video presentation -- interesting and educational! Thank you, Jeremy!
No chatter about this launch? I loved the fireball with two rounds pendant, but I already own the same design in a different color family.
I like the pearls, but part of me is wondering if they're real ... did they pass the tooth test? Of course, with a 14K clasp, they're probably real.
I'll defer to the experts.
I really like the Tahitian earrings with the abalone -- are the gems amethyst and apatite? Fun for summer.
Those are beautiful pearls. I hope your grandmother enjoyed them, as well.
I ran into this problem when making a pearl pendant. The drill hole was a smidge too small for the post on the finding. I gave a big sigh and eventually found another pearl with a slightly larger...
Can you feel the crack when you run your fingernail over it?
I have a fireball with a crack and was told that it could not be drilled, so I suspect your crack happened after the fact and possibly...
I suspect some special lighting was used. Shall we send a request that they photograph the pearls against a white paper towel? ;)
I'm considering a casual necklace as well -- are y'all using bead bumpers instead of knots? Seems like it would be very quick and easy.
I recently purchased an inexpensive multi-quartz necklace...
There are also Fiji pearls -- https://www.fijipearls.com/. The Duchess of Sussex was gifted with a multicolor strand when the royals toured Fiji. You can find photos with Google.
I've seen their advertisements in high-end luxury magazines, like Town & Country. Very expensive. It's my impression that they focus on the design of the entire piece, using gold, etc., and not so...
Currently listed for $79.99 on eBay? That one? ;)
Natasha, you may spend some time searching the 'net, or you can contact Mikimoto directly. They may have some information on the clasp.
Larger pearls are heavier, something to keep in mind.
My long strand (30"? I forget) is graduated. I like that it always hangs correctly.
Do you mean multicolor? When I think "ombre," I think of the way the pearls are strung, from dark to light and back again, as opposed to different colors strung together.
I'd also like to speak up...
Pearl Paradise shows diamond pave clasps and diamond rondelles on their website. They've done custom work for many people, I'm sure you won't have any problems.
And I thought I had a lot of pearls. :D
The necklace with the spinel/black beads -- are those Edisons?
I've known other people who buy commercial jewelry and then have it reset with better pearls. I can think of Ann King orchid earrings, for example.
Your lion pendant is fantastic, as is the bird...
Any earrings? Do you wear pearl studs with your strands?
I love that black/white strand with the Tahitian drop. I may copy that, and hope we don't run into each other. ;)
Ooooh, I love that. I like swirly settings.
I've had sellers regret for things I've sold on eBay -- and I simply remind myself of the reasons why I sold it. I'd rather have sellers regret than buyers remorse. :)
