left one seems to have better luster, and maybe color, looks more white, if we can think white is better.
I prefer the best luster, not necessary the white color, but luster looks better for me.
It...
I just there is no carving on the brooch pearl.
My guess is it's probably a weird blister with some hand shaping, I have about hundred of old american freshwater pearls, and handwork was quite...
I found that brooch, with a american freshwater pearl.
Lenght is 4cm.

Pearls are small but if price is decent, it's nice item.
Not horse enthusiast related item, more a luck charm IMO, like those 4 leaves, or wishbones.
I bought, because description was saying "13mm center pearl" .
As 13mm akoyas didn't exist, this may have been natural strand.
But if right description would have been made, 7mm center pearl, I...
Hope it is, I bought it for the clasp, the diamonds seem enormous.
I wanted to bid on another strand with a 1cm diamond, but price went too far, especially for cultured pearl strand.
Still interesting to read.
I like to wait a bit, browe 40 or 50 "what do I have" threads, and find something interesting, both were in this thread: a clasp, and a small pendant.
I have about 100 of mississippi teneessee pearls.
I have severalcut wings, probably used to make flower tie pin or pendant, these were very common in early XX, Tiffany made a crazy brooch, really...
I have one strand, really nice quality, old necklace, about 3-7,5mm strand if I remember.
Hi everyone,
I will put all my akoyas in same thread, easier for me to remember what I got or still have.
Recently I found this piece, mainly for the clasp, but the 4 strands look not too bad....
the ring may be good, probably a natural pearl, long necklace is not bad, if 18K solid gold, has a good style.
-first necklace is recent work, using I think a art deco period clasp, good one, ugly centerpiece, and no idea about the pearls, freshwater would be my best bet, kind of nice colors, but don't like...
first fake, second chinese freshwater, or can be Biwa, depending on how old is the jewelry.
In the end was not 13mm, only 7mm I shipped back, really disapointed.
Last few years were not as lucky as my first year!
Today I won a "cultured or natural pearl necklace, 112 pearls", my guess is natural, hope it is!

Yeah, some non nacrous made from shell, or even sometimes calcite rock are often visible here and there.
Fake conch pearls made from conch shell, some popped on ebay some years ago.
Fake enormous...
Hello,
I recently purchased this necklace, 50cm, size from 2,5 to 13mm, old knotting, definitely old stuff.
Not in my hand yet, so I will tell more once I get it.
But let's ask the question....
sadly abrasion or surface correction is very common in this area.
my corrected pears are trisidos semitorla and atrina vexillum.
Very hard to say, from a picture, if the pearl is fully natural,...
Hi Quinzel, de he also keep the shell?
I hope so.
What shell is it?
The single strands look like 60's 70's akoya to me.
The other with 3 strands is strange, the clasp looks good but I don't know about the pearls.
I saw your message telling center is a yellow...
This is good stuff, old necklace probably restrung as some pearls are not barrel shaped like others, but fo me it's 100% natural pinctada sp pearls.
You could put some uv light to check for some...
Far more than the white natural pears same size range I gave them to sell....
My both necklaces were 1,9 to 5, 5 and 2, 2 to 5, 2mm , both went for about 350$ and 250$...
A third 8 row went for...
If you would sell a nice mussel pearl, large enough, and a small mussel shell specimen, I would be interested, and same for quahog pearl, I would find a nice quahog pearl...and small shell too.
...
I think it's more a bracelet case, but I got and saw some necklaces in similar cases.
I think it's from 50's
