They did have silver clasps but I am not an expert. on Mikimoto. BWeaves knows a lot about the brand and hopefully she will post.
You could create an album on your profile with those photos. :)
Cees is Cees (pronounced "case") Van Oije, of Amsterdam Pearls. He's on Instagram and Facebook under his own name. I bought my golden SSP from him. He has a good eye!
Yes, Lisa-- it's strung on wire with silicone bumpers and a hidden clasp. It's really comfortable. Sometimes clasps tickle my neck, but this is so easy to wear.
Lisa, I'd go ahead and make that stretch bracelet so you can enjoy them! You know you can always change it in the future to something else.
Thanks Charlotta and Pattye...I'll pass that along to her. :)
She was never interested in pearls until I got my GSS. She fell in love with them, so I got her a strand of her own, since I'm not...
Lisa, those Tahitians would make a great bracelet. Sounds like a great winter project now that we are all stuck at home.
What kind of clasp would you use? Or would you make a stretch bracelet?
croquemadame, I suggest you look for white pearls with a silver or neutral undertone. Pearls that have a rose undertone may disappear against your skin, and cream colored pearls probably won't look...
Many of us pearl lovers have champagne taste on a beer budget! Here are a few budget-stretching ideas:
• Consider getting gem quality freshwater pearls instead of akoyas. There is a large price...
Real pearls:
1. cultured pearls (i.e. farmed pearls)-- today's pearl market is a cultured pearl market.
2. natural (i.e. wild pearls, which form without any human intervention)-- while there are...
I love Red Tailed Hawks! There is a large hawk that occasionally sits atop a telephone pole at the back of your yard, near our shed. We saw him a few days ago, surveying the area; he sat there for a...
I would conclude that that certificate is not for that strand.
That's what confused me, BWeaves. I thought they were all the same photo.
I like the top and middle strands of the Freshadamas and the middle strand of the Hanadamas.
I get you now.
Let me flip that first photo (Freshadamas) so that they're easier to compare.

There are 5 strands there. Can you identify each one please, from the top?
I do have to say they all look fabulous, except I do not personally care for the strand 2nd from the bottom. Maybe it's...
I'm afraid I have to agree there....the bands of low luster in the middle are particularly bad. If it were me I'd eliminate those and make a bracelet from the rest.
I have 2 UV lights, both long wave. It is not that they are fluorescing-- being shiny, they are reflecting back the color of the light. Photos later.
Interesting...I immediately thought they were dyed fwp. They look like so many dyed fwp I've seen.
Lovely orient! The play of colors happens because of the diffraction and refraction of light between the layers of the nacre.
I actually prefer rubbing the pearls together rather than rubbing against my tooth. Seems more sanitary.
As for the UV light, that identifies Sea of Cortez pearls, which appear red under the...
Sorry, we really do need better photos. Larger, closer-up would help. Use a white background again and strive for the best focus you can get.
Please take a close up photo of any blemishes you...
Freshwater pearls, and possibly onyx beads.
If it were a bracelet, I'd be more inclined to suggest solid-nacre freshwaters for their durability, since bracelets take more of a beating. A necklace, not so much. A good akoya necklace will...
