I would not buy if returns are impossible. Taking pictures of pearls is tough and there are variations in monitor quality and calibration.
They aren't knotted so asking for pictures of the drill holes is no big deal. If they are naturally that blue, those are pretty expensive. I would be a bit suspicious if the seller wasn't willing to...
I still dream of blue akoyas... As you say, that perfect pinkish/blue colour.
If it has a 1cm diamond, the price is for the diamond and not the pearls. That would be over 3 carats, if round.
Zombie thread alert!
I don't like the first one either, sorry. As stated before, the clasp style clashes with the flower and I don't like how they adapted it for two strands. The pearls are nuggets with a flat side and...
From you description, I imagine there is a chance that they are natural pearls.
What a beautiful ring.
And since I always fixate on small things, I love the delicate diamond halo. Such an unexpected detail.
Yes, I think you are right. The two center pearl "halves" seem to add up to somewhat more than a whole a pearl.
Interesting interpretation of the classic pearl necklace by Tasaki.

The OCD in me is dismayed that the halves don't match but part of it is because the outside has an extra half pearl to...
Nico prefers to play hockey with my pearls.
I AM SO DISAPPOINTED!
I started reading this thread, thought a tiara contest was the coolest thing ever, started having IDEAS, thought a February deadline was quite reasonable, then I saw the...
I am guessing there is a very good light system to enhance the pearl. I would ask for photos under natural light to compare.
The Seven Seas necklace is just gorgeous
That is one of the best parts of the love for pearls. Unlike other gemstones, there is so much we can do without specialized tools or long training. Change the stringing, combine with different...
It is strange. I looked at all my usual sources and I am seeing very little pearl cups
The photos loaded fine for me.
My guess would be akoyas. They seem nice and round, not eggy, and a pretty cream colour.
As in any commercial venture, the question becomes: "does this add more value than cost?" In my guess, it will only add value to the top of the crop of some specific pearl types and for some clients...
I love them as well
Considering her personal style, I would not go for the white akoyas. They are beautiful but way too traditional for how you describe her. I would go for something that can fit her "business persona"...
One of my favourite strands is a dyed dove grey keshi, since blue akoyas aren`t in the budget. As long as the vendor was honest and sold them as dyed, they are another alternative for us.
Chinese freshwater pearls, from the shape. They seem to have nice luster although you might want to pick of a few duds. They are all nacre so you can wear them without worry.
Thank you, Loretta and Blaire, for all you have done and continue to do for us here.
And thank you, Douglas, as well for taking over the mantle!
The clasp was originally meant for a two strand necklace. Lovely!
