I got a proposition from jeweler to buy leftovers of Sea pearls from Japan after selection. Price 80 euro for 18 inch. Is it worth? Light 166

Yes, freshwaters. You don't get that flattened shape with sea pearls because they have a round bead inside them

Since you are quoting a euro price, where are you?

Those look just like the very inexpensive freshwaters I see at low end gem and mineral shows.

I even bought some like those and made a necklace to wear to a friend's wedding back in 2006. Here it is:

Thanks Caitlin-- even low end pearls can be dressed up! The stones are 2 mm tourmalines, citrines, fluorites and a couple of blue topazes. Oh, and a couple of horn beads near the clasp.
