          • They still have the baroque akoyas in stock, though only the smaller sized ones are left (9-9.5).
I don't know how much they were discounted during the april sale last year, but I guess if there are general site-wide discounts (like v-day sale), this could still be a decent deal?

              • I love my white baroque akoyas ... 2 strands, separate, but of a length to nest nicely ... wear them often, alone or nested, or connected as a long rope. But, Newberry, that simple linked wire wrap with the drop ... just divine!

                    • Thank you BabyNurse!

Purranha several years ago I went on my usual spring trip to PP and Jeremy put in front of me a little bag of white metallic drops that was scheduled to be an April special. I picked out two for earrings. He then put a pearl on a chain down in front of me. My jaw dropped my had grabbed and I said I want this one. I wanted the blossom setting on the earrings and have a custom made bale with the same setting for the pendent. Wore it like that for years. When I heard about the big baroque akoyas I took the drop with me to see how metallic pearls and akoyas looked together. The tin cup was created. Long story....and you probably only wanted to know that the pearl is over 12mm wide and 16mm long

                        • Thank you Cathy. I sometimes wish I would have gotten more of these strands. I bet worn as a double it is spectacular.

                          • Wow, Newberry, that necklace with the drop is stunning. I definitely wanted all the information about it, so thank you for giving it to us. That pendant is gorgeous, and I love the blossom setting. But it really looks "finished" with the wire wrapped necklace.

So, I'm curious. How do wire wrapped pearl necklaces "feel" compared to knotted pearl necklaces?

I like the silky, drapey feel of a strand of pearls, but I've never seen a wire wrapped strand in person, so I don't know how it feels.

                              • Newberry - thank you for sharing the story - I love the story behind the pearl more than just the specs! That is one SPECTACULAR drop - most of the metallics I've seen listed are all around or below 10mm. More interestingly, the baroque akoyas have been pinked, and usually it shows when placed next to metallic whites. But your baroque akoyas look metallic white and looks like they were born from the same lot with the drop. That is some serious special matching! Will you be bringing this set to the Ruckus? I hope so!

BabyNurse - lol not surprised you snagged that strand - I inquired about it too but was too late.

I feel like every time I see something in both Newberry and your collection I have to ping PP and ask oh oh oh do you guys still have more of those abc special sale from n years ago as seen on xyz. And sadly of course the answer is mostly no.
