My pearls

Thank you AzFlyGirl and CortezPearls. I agree, something special happens when one combines vintage graduated akoyas with tahitians or south sea pearls. The tricky part is to get the colors right. The golden akoyas were more difficult to find a pleasing combination for than the ivory ones. And I like that wave effect. It would be fun to find those traditional graduated akoya strands in blue, green, silver etc.

I believe you are right...it's a kind of Magic! And it works if you make the colors work right as you say...but that size & color contrast makes for a unique effect indeed. I love these :D

I do as well CortezPearls and I use them quite often. Sometimes I remake a strand when I don't use it. Even if it's pretty. That's probably why I don't have any vintage akoya strands anymore...when I first bought them I used them all the time. But then tahitians came along and by the time I bought my good white south sea strand from Cees I knew that I wouldn't use them anymore.

And this is why I stopped using my vintage akoyas that I use to love wearing. ...these ones are totally gorgeous

Blue tahitian strand from Pearlescence and my white south sea strand from Cees. If I hold up that white south strand next to any other south sea pearls, except for my smaller circled ones perhaps (haven't checked), the other strand looks dull. It has such an amazing luster. Better than any of my akoyas. And that blue tahitian strand, how amazing is that color. I bet Wendy will be getting new requests for a strand like this again. Wendy did tell me that she found this strand for me with a bunch of green strands. It's perfect with jeans. It would also be perfect as a mixed strand with white south sea pearls or with akoyas but there is no way I'm remaking these two.

Really lovely strands Charlotta! The luster on those SSPs is like satin or silk! Just lights up my Soul to see it (I imagine touching it)...and the blue Tahitian is great and I mean: "Pearls & Jeans" is a New Classic :)

Do you remember those golden akoyas that I keep remaking. I recently added most of the ombre south sea bracelet to half of them. I'm not totally convinced that is the right combination.
It is pretty and not bad when worn. So this is for you eolian pearls, one of my most blurry selfies. And I did take a lot of them...
So I took the red jasper skull from the ombre south sea bracelet and added it to the blue tahitian bracelet.

Your pearly creations continue to delight, Charlotta, that strand looks even better when worn. I with eolian pearls on this one - more neck shots please!

Thank you CortezPearls and @Happy Huka. More neckshots coming up soon. Well I have to take them first. I have mostly been wearing my bracelets with tahitian studs this week, because of the heat. I made some new stretch bracelets with leftover pearls that I am really pleased with. I call them my happy bracelets. Because they are so colorful and sort of scrappy.

My new Happy bracelets. All from my leftover pile. It's what I have been wearing this week along with my turquoise green tahitian studs from Pearlescence. Well today I am wearing my white south sea keshi studs instead, also from Pearlescence. I love my new bracelets. I once read in a book that making quilts out of scraps and worn out clothing was like found money. Not that I make quilts with scraps, modern clothing generally aren't that much use in a quilt...well I make bracelets out of leftover pearls instead. When one remakes their pearls as often as I do the leftover pile kind of grows. I also had som carved beads and skulls in pastelly colors that I didn't really like but wanted to use. First I was thinking about making a really random placement...but it did indeed look hideous. So I ombred them. With an apricot trumpet shell skull.

And some armshots?

I usually have them on my left arm above my fitbit watch where they are more protected. I use my right hand too much

I had really fun making these. There are all kind of pearls in them. Freshwater ripples, keshis and beadnucleated pearls. Round, circled and drop tahitians. Round, circled and drop south sea pearls. Some are from Cees and Pearlescence. Some from Wen Pearls, Kongspearl and Pearllunar. I think that those pointy white south sea pearls are from OceansRhyme.

Your happy bracelets make me happy, too. They're lovely. Are they strung on elastic?

Thank you BWeaves. They are on elastic stretch cord so that I can rinse them of. I do prefer knotted ones with clasps but for easy use and rinsability the stretch cord is really more practical with this pandemic. I wash my fitbit watch every day as well. It's surprisingly durable.

OH MY!!!! These are AMAZING Charlotta!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!! And armshots too??;) Lovely lovely! So difficult to choose a favorite here!!!

All of these bracelets are SO gorgeous! The SS + carved agatized fossil coral skull is fantastic :32: And your skill with ombre design is unmatched!

I also recieved my latest order of circled south sea pearls from Druzydesign. I added the most circled ones to my rope and removed others. I shortened it a little bit, so it's 39,5 inches long now. I think that it's a better lenght now. That really big deep golden south sea pearl is new. I was thinking about adding it as a center pearl in my deep golden circled south sea strand, but then it would look larger and I like the wearability of the strand as it is. So into the rope it went.

I love this rope. It's so colorful and I never get tired of watching all those quirky pearls

I then had some of those Druzydesign south sea pearls leftover, including that mixed south sea bracelet that I made. I remade those pearls into two bracelets with carved red jasper scarabs one golden and one white.

You can see why I didn't make a white south sea strand with those gorgeous white pearls. Some have quite a blue overtone and the other ones are warmer in tone. Nothing wrong with that but I think it's a bit obviously unmatched for a strand. I would love to have a strand with those white south sea pearls with the blue overtone though.

I like the colors and different shapes of the pearls in these bracelets. It's like pearl samplers, like quilt samplers, almost all kinds of pearls and shapes are present. Not akoyas (not many available), sea of cortez (don't have any) or any of the natural pearls (don't have any of those either).
I switched clasp on the blue tahitian bracelet from cmw pearls and the silver tahitian bracelet from Cees. The blue azurite skull made the silver pearls looks blue, the red jasper skull made the blue tahitians look less blue...

Then I have had some thought on combining some of those white and golden south sea pearls from Druzydesign with some peacock circled tahitians into a strand or bracelet. These ones
