My pearls

Thank you eolian pearls. I learnt how to make sushi during a summer vacation some years ago. I bought a big book about japanese cooking, in english, and experimented away. I had to refresh the rice making though. I usually try to learn something new each vacation. One time it was wire wrapping, last summer I made ramen from scratch and ones me and my daughter made cupcakes of every kind one can imagine.
I also made a 45 inches long tahitian rope last week. I cut apart five bracelet for this one. Well they were bracelets at one point at least. Most of the pearls are from Cees and then I added some pearls from a bracelet I bought from Druzydesign. Mostly drop pearls, 8-14,5mm. Lots of neutral colors in this one. It goes with everything.

It's very long.

I really like this one as well.

After cutting apart all those strand, the lovely green akoyas from Pearlescence looked all abandoned. Since I really do love my silver blue akoya and drop tahitian rope I combined them with my favorite and most colorful circled tahitian pearls from that multicolored tahitian rope that I recently made. Yep, cut that up as well. I needed the darkest pearls for another project...the green akoya and circled tahitian strand is now 27 inches long and the pearls between 7-10,4mm. It is a bit pastelly and very pretty.

All those colors.

It's similar to my other strand but still different.

OPS, got carried away. Back to the green akoyas. The mismatched green tahitian studs from OceansRhyme are perfect with this one.
_20201219_145255.jpg
They have quite a varied lenght.
_20201219_145557.jpg
And that lenght most often depends on how many pearls I have available...I show you the strand with the darkest of the circled tahitians tomorrow.

Beautiful arrangements, Charlotta. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Sushi sounds good, hm hm. Wasabi will clear out everything that’s bothering one, haha! Thank you for the hint about the time it may take to make the first tassel. I also love your clasps and want to purchase some for myself. I still have the name of the seller from whom you got them, so I’m good!

Thank you multichrome. I am sure your tassel woun't take 4 hours. I think my first tassel included a little kitten that stole the half made tassel with wire and ev everything.
Wasabi will do that. Not-husband has tried it on a lot lately. He says it's good with ham and mustard. And eggs...well I haven't tried. Usually I prefer gari.

Charlotta,
So sorry to hear you have been under the weather. Pleased to hear you are now feeling better.

Love your new strands. The one that catches my eye would be the South Sea necklace, with the white and golden south sea pearls, with the Tahitians. The colors just catch my eye. All of the 3 are beautiful. So lovely the way you have placed them together.

Wishing you a happy holiday. Feel better soon.

All 3 strands are GORGEOUS but I have the same eye for the 3-colored necklace (just like AzFlyGirl)...I just love that beautiful contrast in colors :D

So glad you’re feeling better, and up to your old ‘snips’!

Thank you AzFlyGirl, CortezPearls and lisa c. I am feeling much better. And I have a new knot cutter, much better than my old scissors. The strands are all trembling...moahaha. I had to buy a new reamer. It broke. I was going to ream out a knot that had gotten struck, now I have a pearl with a knot and a piece of reamer stuck inside...I found the knot cutter when I bought the new reamer. Didn't egen know there was such a thing. Bought a new wire cutter as well. Mine was a bit dull.
I agree with you all about the mixed strand of golden and white south seas and dark peacock tahitians. It's just so pleasing to look at. Mostly I prefer silver with tahitians, but peacocks accually looks good with gold. The white and deep golden south sea pearls did not look good with some cooltoned tahitians. I tried that first.

When I cut apart that multicolored circled tahitian rope, that I mentioned yesterday, I first removed my favorite dark pearls. I had a plan for those pearls. I found a baroque white south sea strand at OceansRhymes sale a while ago. I ordered them well before I got sick and they arrived just when I was starting to feel better. I also bought a dark circled tahitian bracelet with an adorable tassel. I do have my holy grail white south sea strand from Cees, so I didn't needed it as a strand per se. I have wanted to make a black and white south sea sea and tahitian strand for a long time. Since I first saw BN:s strand. I did make a white and grey strand ones. For my new strand I used about half of the new white strand. The rest I used for another project...I also added some white south sea pearls from Pearlescence, the dark circled tahitian from new bracelet and the dark tahitians from my cut up rope. It's 26,5 inches and the pearls are between 8,2-11,8mm.

I like this strand. I will post the one with the rest of the south sea pearls tomorrow. I will have to find a new use for that tassel charm.

Very lovely Charlotta. I love the way you Interspeed the pearls to create that variation and symmetry. I am happy to hear you are also feeling so much better :)

Swoonworthy. I love the contrast between the Tahitians and the SSPs. Looking at beauty like this does my heart good.

Thank you CortezPearls and multichrome. I moved the pearls around quite a bit before I was pleased. I didn't want it to be too symmetrical. And I like that there are some difference in the pearls shapes as well.

With the rest of the white south sea pearls from OceansRhyme I made a mixed white and golden south sea strand. I have been wanting to make one for a while. Wendy told me that they are difficult to get right, when I asked her about it once. And she was right. The white south sea pearls sort of makes the other pearls appear lighter than they are. Many of the lighter cream, green and champagne pearls looks sort of white. I used some white south sea pearls from Pearlescence and the best pearls from the two strands of greenish golden south sea pearls that I got from Kongspearl some years ago as well. Overall those pearls are greenish, but there are some other colors as well. Even a deep golden one. It's a nice 19 inches long strand. I might replace some of the pearls some day...when I find some

Ooh, I like your cool-toned take on a mixed white and golden strand. Very wearable.
Also glad to see that the golden strand from Cees is still intact - I always fear a bit for your strands! To my eyes, that one is perfect as it is.

Charlotta

Love love love the WSS and GSS strand. I have been yearning for a strand with both white and golden mixed through out the strand. Beautiful and so versatile. Very elegant.

Thank you SydK and AzFlyGirl. Yep the golden strand is intact. And will probably remain so, since there are strands that I have decided that I need as a staple. That would be both my deep golden south sea strand and my white south sea strand (this one has the best luster of any white south sea pearls I have ever seen) from Cees, my rainbow strand and my blue tahitian strand (well I wear a lot of blue jeans) from Pearlescence, my ombre tahitian rope from Cees, the 2 ombre south sea strands from Pearlescence, my rikitea strand from Cees, my bigger multicolored tahitian strand (same luster and colors as the rikiteas) from Pearlescence, my tassels (not strands but whatever). Probably more. Can't remember, probably some of my mixed strands. Did forget my mixed south sea and tahitian strand (the pelosi one), my ombre blue and silver tahitian rope and my blue akoya and drop tahitian rope. I hope that everyone have a happy christmas even though we might not be able to see our loved ones. Lots of phonecalls to make today since we celebrate christmas today in sweden.

Before I got sick I ordered some pearls from cmw pearls. They arrived just when I was starting to get better. They had som pretty 9mm tahitian bracelet in different blue shades. I have to get some new blue pearls every year. It's a tradition, very important. Three years ago I bought my blue tahitian studs from Pearlescence, then about two years ago I bought the blue tahitian strand that matches the earrings, also from Pearlescence, last year I bought the blue Alexander Collins tahitian strand from Pearlescence, that I later remade with a silver tahitian strand from Cees into an ombre waverope. Love that rope. This year bracelets...no. Those bracelet bracelets were perfect for making an ombre rope. I knew they would be. I only did have to rearrange a few pearls. One bracelet had silver blue pearls, one blue aqua, one a slightly darker with some turquoise shades in it and the last one blue purple. I got a christmas present from them as well, a pair of pale 9mm silver and aqua tahitian pearls that I turned into a pair of studs. They are perfect for the rope and I didn't have any studs that color.

Thank you Pattye. I agree about the tahitians, so many beautiful colors and color combinations.

I also bought some blue green pearls from cmw pearls. To short to make a strand with. I first tried to add some of my leftover pearls from the pile, but they needed some contrast. And contrast they got. Whilst I was thinking about what to do with them my eyes went to my vintage akoya and deep golden waverope and strand. I love those pieces.
_20201219_161956.jpg
What if I made one with tahitians. I cut apart another waverope, the one with shorter waves and bigger golden south sea pearls. I used some of those south sea pearls in my new white and golden mixed south sea strand. Then I had to sort all of those akoyas. They were from a very preloved vintage double strand. The previous owner had destroyed some of the pearls with hairspray or perfume. But only in some small parts, mainly on the back and on a small part of one side. I did throw away those damaged pearls long ago. Well I like this new waverope (not enough akoyas left to make a wavestrand as well)
