My sister came to visit this weekend and we had some girly fun - manicure/pedicure, kitchen faucet changing, AND trying on and taking pictures of my pearls. Truth to be told kitchen faucet changing was not much fun and we ended up asking for guy's help and with pearls, my sis tried them on and I took the pictures. :)
It was my first attempt at taking pearl pictures, and I thought I'll share them with the appreciative and understanding crowd.
These are not all of my pearls, but most of the strung/ready to wear pieces. I still have a lot of loose and on the way to me pearls to share at a later date.
We were sitting outside, enjoying the afternoon sun and snapping pix. Thanks to the help of my sis Lena I can share them with you!
I will provide all the info regarding the pearls that I have (except prices, which I'd rather forget instantly :D
So here they are...
we started small and added layers.

Chen Luu leather and FW 5mm fancy dyed pearls. 925 antiqued sterling silver clasp

Adding 17mm Tahitian from Cees, set in an 18K YG band by Kojima.

Loading more Tahitians on. 9.5 mm silver/peacock enhancers set in 18K WG huggies with 1.5K of diamonds. My sis' favorite earrings.

More Tahitians! I must admit it is the kind of pearls I have the most, (almost) unbeknownst to me :)
Lena added her own 10.5 mm T pendant from Tara Pearls.

Changing into Akoya!
My beloved Miki strands.
Starting with my very first pearls ever - vintage graduated Miki strand with silver clasp. Pearls range from 3 to 8mm. The strand is 20" long.

Adding another Miki strand - 6-6.5mm straight, vintage, 24" long. 14K YG clasp

And finishing up with another layer of Mikomoto strands - 32" 7mm straight, also vintage (before they started to add M charm). 18K YG clasp

What fun to put the graduated with the non-graduated akoyas. It works very nicely. You are inspiring...

Continuing with Akoya. Blue Akoya
This strand was my very first non-white Akoya and I suspected it was dyed. It was indeed, but I bought it cheap, really liked the length/color and even luster, so I kept it. It is in desperate need of restringing, and I intend to learn how to do it, using this very necklace.
8mm straight 30", 14K YG clasp.

This pendant was made form me by Cees's friend and wonderful jeweler Martin. The blue Akoya pearl is from Cees.
11.51 mm blue Japanese Akoya, perfect round. 18K WG bail and my box link 18K WG chain.

Adding more!
10.5 mm blue Akoya in 18K WG from Cees and Martin! LOVE!

Next went golden Akoyas.
I do not have much right now, though this part of my Akoya's family is expanding.
18", 19", and 20" ombre strands of 2.5-3mm baby Akoyas with harpoon clasp systems.
First is an image from Cees, where the ombre effect is most prominent.

Golden Akoya Ombre 2.jpg

And these are my own.

Akoya-8.jpg

And worn as one long rope

And with a 14K YG pair of huggies and 7mm golden Akoya enhancers.

and the last Akoya today my oval 8.5-9mm white Akoya enhancer (one from a pair) worn as a charm with my Kitty RG/diamond charm and RG chain.

WOW!!! You have a beautiful collection. I love everything. The layers of Mikis are perfection. The 3 ombre's are amazing. That Tahitian ring, wow! And the earrings are amazing, too. Of course, I love everything blue. Thank you for sharing.

Here are some more of my Tahitians.
11.2mm blue-green T from Kojima set in Pearl Paradise's 14K YG huggies. Yes, huggies/loops/horseshoe earrings are my favorite types as they are secure/not super flashy and allow to add (or remove enhancers).
So here they are! I LOVE them!

Adding a necklace!
26" 8-11mm near round/ovals from Tasaki Pearls. 18K WG with a couple of tiny diamonds in a clasp.

And adding Lena'd own pendant from Tara Pearls.

Thank you, Linda and BW! :)
Not tired yet? I hope not! As I have some more pix coming up!

I have some more Tahitians, but they are either loose or not here yet, so I will entertain you with other pearls I have.

Here comes my minuscule collection of CFW. I only have 2 items.

2mm off-round white CFW plus white/rose overtone 16.4mm Edison pendant from Kojima
Here is Sarah's glamour shot. I love those jasmine flowers!

1111.jpg

And my own...

017ff017e8223e2623ea6e3241136003becc0649fe.jpg

And this tiny peach off-round 16" necklace. I really need to expand my CFW department. But hey, 8 months ago I had only 1 strand and was NOT going to go down the pearl hole! The pearly slippery slope is so dangerous

0110392fc408820decae0da5b49771618a5aa1d822.jpg

We used this tiny necklace as a pearl chain for my Fiji/Tahitian pendant, created by Sarah.
Fiji pearls (the upper and lower ones) are from Cees, soft pistachio T is from Sarah. 18K YG chain/enhancer. Pearls ranging from 13.8 to 14.5mm.

015468a0c01cc2e92904230a28444f859ced92e68c.jpg

And the same pendant on my family's heirloom gold 56 Hallmark chain from Emperor Russia times.

01a98c6c2b68188d6bfdc4634653f56194743d212c.jpg

Last but not least use of the CFW chain was with another Sarah creation - two SoC pearls from Douglas and Enrique plus a big Kasumi pearl from Kojima on a YG 18K chain and enhancer. Pearls are from top to bottom 9.3 mm semi-round copper SoC, 9.5 x 10.5mm silvery-blue drop SoC and Kasumi that I do not have a measurement for right now. Waiting for my pearl gouge in the mail!

and another shot

Speaking of Kasumi pearls...
These two are waiting for me at Sarah's... Now... what would I do with them... possibilities...

Kasumi March 2018 Harvest.jpg

And my last Kasumi piece - my first ever loose and first ever Kasumi pearls: 5 pearls bought from seasidecottage on eBay and converted into a tin cup necklace by my friends and jewelry artists The Duox Artisans from Canada. 18K YG chain.

I hope you are not tired of me yet tonight.
My last post is about my GSS pearls.
Here they are...
My first ever loose GSS from Cees made into a pendant with enhancer and yet another pair of haggies with removable enhancers.
Pearls are 12.5-13mm and the pendant is 15.8mm. 18K YG. Jeweler - my friend Elena's studio Perlina in Moscow.
I love how they turned out!

01f26c4a8901d018e6099f1c75fbc8af70b9f87b50.jpg

The necklace picking out is another purchase from Cees - 13.5 to 17mm. Originally almost 25" without a clasp, it was shortened a bit by Sarah, and we added a vintage 18K clasp with 9 Akoya pearls.
I think we need to take another 2 pearls on each side to make it a perfect length for me. But that is another project for the future.

I think this is it for tonight. I do own some serious WSS pearls but I lent them to my Mom, as they are very grown-up and she likes them a lot :D
Taking these photos and looking through my Excel file also helped me to narrow down what I would like to add next (blue baroque Akoya rope! Hanadama and Madama earrings! Pistachio Ts! to name a few).
Thank you for reading my humble thread!

So many lovely pearls! My favorites are these earrings-- the luster and color are wonderful:

You have a beautiful collection! Loving everything I can see so far but I'm not able to see the pics in post #7. I love those ombré Akoyas! I have only 1 strand of golden Akoya I got from my mother years ago. I think they're 6-6.5mm. I need to get them out & show them some love!

thank you, 86CG! I just edited the post, so hopefully, the pictures are visible again. I can't figure out why they disappear, it happened a few times already.

Golden Akoyas are wonderful, especially with warmer skin tones. My taste is evolving and I appreciate colorful (non-white) Akoyas more and more.

Masik, All absolutely beautiful! Love seeing the golden ombre Akoya being worn! I wondered how they would show up. The answer is, Beautifully!! Wish my Sis lived close enough to come play in my pearls, too!

Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you, Pattye!
I am getting another batch of ombre baby Akoyas from Cees, we just made them in three strands. I plan to clip them aaaaall together!
Here is a pic from Cees. I will show the whole thing once it gets here.

Golden Akoya Big Ombre.jpg

Yeah, having a sister close by is a blessing! Can't imagine my life without her :D
