  • Show us your Pet :)

Pet pics always make me smile. I know some of us have faced a recent loss (and I hope this won't make it worse) and some of us are clinging a little tighter to our pets. So in memory of those that have passed on or a tribute to those still here…show us your pet(s)

    Thx

No, Midge said, I take it back. I wouldnt get a mink coat the first thing. Know what Id do? Id get a string of pearls. Real pearls. Yes, Annabel said, slowly. I think thats a kind of a good idea. And it would make sense, too. Because you can wear pearls with anything.

Darwin has a very intense life. He has a lawyer, and often threatens to start legal action against us for some reason or another. He is in a gang and often fights other cats, apparently he always wins... His latest excentricity: he'd like us to put us as guarantee for $60,000 of student loans for him to go to law school.

The running jokes about him in our house are endless... And very silly, as you can see.

Oh my thank you everyone! I admit for my own selfish reasons I needed a smile tonight so thank you all for participating! I'm enjoying all the pics. Tucs I also love that you've shared some of your stories!!!!

For those having issues with pics, I've noticed if I post and it comes out sideways, I just edit the post delete the [ ####] resize the picture to a smaller size then repost it in the edit, it is the right side up again.

Edit* My pup is Sadie, she was supposed to have been a hospice patient (this was three years ago) and she is still with me defying the odds. It is probably abnormal how attached I am, but I truly treasure every minute I get to spend with her.

I love, love, LOVE this thread!!! I agree, pet pictures make me smile. If there is anything in the world that can make me smile, it is my furbabies. Animals are so photogenic and perfect in every way.

I grew up in Japan and when I got homesick, I decided that I needed a Japanese dog, so my son got a Shiba Inu three years ago. Since then we've rescued a few, rehomed a few, and fostered a few. These three are my furbabies, but one of them has been assigned to keep my mom company. He was a former rescue that I sent to live with my mom since he was such a good boy. Meet Taisho (mom's), Tatsu, and Kaji (my son's).

Here is my daughter with Kaji, Tatsu, Kino (foster who has since been adopted), and Taisho. 4 shibas and a girl.jpg

We also have a kitty in a box named Vader. He gets asthma attacks and starts to sound like Darth Vader with his heavy breathing so we have to give him steroid shots to help his breathing. We've noticed our pets tend to take on the personality of the name we give them so we have decided to no longer name any black animal Vader (he got asthma a few years after we named him). He's now ten years old and because of his asthma, we know we only have a few more years wtih him so we share him with the neighbors when we can. He goes from house to house and gets love and treats. When it gets late, we get phone calls telling us they have Vader and either bring him to us or we go get him. We are lucky to have such wonderful neighbors that don't mine a big black kitty coming over every few days and sleeping at their home. He has about five families that love on him. Kitty in a box.jpg

Shibas are AWESOME!!!! I remember a day when they were so hard to find here in the US. Anyone I know that has spent time in Japan, they inevitably become the pet guardian to a Shiba Inu. Amti I really like those names, and you've become a family of Shiba guardians! I have always had a special affection for black cats, growing up in the south I witnessed black cats facing so much silly supersticous ridicule.
