Great to have you back Faith
Thank you for your kind words...and in a way, when we focus on all the beautiful things in Life (gardening, pearls, cooking, hugs! whatever makes you tick!) we can see ourselves reflected (just the way we do on pearls... and our loved ones too!) in these activities that we love. When I do my garden I remember my dad at his ranch, picking up these huge heirloom tomatoes (back in the day we just called them tomatoes) and it makes this activity a connection point with him.
When I am handling pearls, I am constantly reminded of everyone I have met thanks to this beautiful organic gem. The family I have gained, even if I have not met personally everyone.
So, our loved ones will always live in our hearts and memories. Always.
    Have a blessed day!

Sorry, I've been off the grid for a while, trying to spend some time outside with my gardening, and the weather got so nuts in June, 110 in Bremerton Washington in June! My poor cucumber plants have really struggled to grow up as opposed to burning up! Had to hit the produce stand to round out my supply, and now can finally get the bread and butter pickles done, but just got caught up in all the human love and kindness of this thread. Douglas, I am so sorry for your loss, and the isolation you were going through during such wrenching moments. My state is going back to mandated masks indoors on monday, and has demanded state and health care workers be vaccinated or lose their jobs. I fear another total lockdown is imminent as cases soar yet again. Looking at my beautiful Pearl's still lifts my spirit, thank goodness! Love to all, we are much stronger together, figuratively speaking of course, and will prevail, over time. So sad to see so many lost to this horrible virus

Beautiful words Douglas, I was thinking about what you said today as I was swimming It’s my meditation time... How we never know what challenges the others are facing and how the only way to be supportive sometimes is just to be lovingly present without any judgement...I was reading these phrases recently that really stuck with me, one from Simone Weil that says “ Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity...” and JDMcClathy “ Love is the quality of attention we pay to things...”

I am sure she will jeg children are amazing...it's just that the lockdown has brought so many changes in our social lives, disrupting it all.
And I believe we can all be more accepting of this fact and always think that the person next to us is -perhaps- facing a life-challenge and that we can make that person's life better just with the way we treat them.

Walter's words are full of wisdom (nuts!) CathyKeshi and your are full of Love friend. Thank you!
Better times are a'coming...I am sure

Ah, Douglas ... we all grieve together, and were so sorry to hear about your father. We had no comfort and closure on a few funerals this year too; that was especially difficult. I hope Jessica will find a way to less fear eventually, I expect it will take TIME and a lot of love and help from her family. It's very understandable this can happen; I was accused of being a bit to zealous with the bleach and sanitizers too ... and the first few times we went out, I was a bit nuts (Walter's words LOL). Time is helping some, but as the world's health situation is still scary, that fear isn't going to disappear overnight. I have faith our scientists will continue to improve things, but the scars will be there for all of us ... eased only by time and love. My love to you all; you've all helped us through a year in ways to numerous to mention; we are truly bound here by love and friendship and a common mindset

CortezPearls. I am so sorry to hear about not being able to att ed to your fathers funeral. I remember how inportant my fathers funeral was for me, and that was before the pandemic. Here at least we have been having online funerals during the pandemic. I don't know how it works exactly since I have been fortunate not to loose any members of my family. I think that a small group, very small, could also visit the gravesite as well.
My heart also goes out to your daughter. I hope she will be able to let go of the facemask and washing her hands so much after a while. Not-husband uses more handsanatizer than what is health. We have both been working as usual, with limitations of course, but see more people than we wish for every day. Not everyone can work from home. Our jobs are declared neccessary for the functioning of the country. It breaks my heart seeing him using handsanatizers every time he gets into the car or touches anything workrelated. He has some sort of allergy against something in his glowes (not the think glows, the tough ones for working outside and such) and his hands all are cracked. I can see that it hurts every time.
Lisa c, we all love you.

It just happens you know...I thought that you probably had problems with the post...being as it was: Unseen due to the font color issue.
This pandemic has caused much pain and misery all over, it's just simply understandable.

You know what? One of my twins -Jessica, just turned 15- has developed a "condition" where she wears a face mask all day long, will disinfect everything and will even prepare her own meals, take care of her own cutlery, she washes her hands probably 30 times per hour...I mean it's like living with Howard Hugues minus the money and the moustache! And we know, we understand it is this whole situation.

If there is a lesson to be learnt from this whole situation is that we have to have more LOVE for each other, we don't know what battles each of us is facing, and this goes both for actual face-2-face and online situations. I lost my dad last December, could not even attend his funeral (there was none of course, since COVID victims are cremated) and I know that my siblings and I had a rough time, it's just been difficult to say the least, so hanging on to a place (even online) where you feel accepted is definitively not wrong at all.

This forum is about pearls, but WE, THE PEARL PEOPLE (trying not to sound too "constitutional") are the ones that bring Life to this forum, and in a way, WE ARE PRECIOUS PEARLS...each nacre layer constituted by our ups and downs, our bad and good moments, and experiences. We GLOW with whatever Life has thrown at us. We are the ones that give Life to the forum, and we SHARE it in our unified LOVE for these amazing watery gems, and this binds us all together.

Sorry if I went philosophical. I rarely have the time or ears to share these days (definitively not of my teenage daughters! )

The situation was also kind of Ironic, because when I typed it, my screen showed black type, but when I hit post it was a WHITEOUT, worse than Faith’s white print on blue background. I had no idea what I’d written to her, and NOTHING TO EDIT. Shriek. Editing, I always Edit.

    Existential Crisis. I thought That’s it, no PG?!?! No Edit???? and then flailed about until I saw p’s ‘paranoia’ remark;
roflmao, Thank you, you beautiful people!

    I def have Overly-A ttached-to-PG Syndrome. !

And it was against hackers, not anyone associated with our lovely people here, and the efforts to keep PG up. I’m grateful for all of you, and I hope you forgive my excesses
