I loved seeing your weaving setup...there is something special about the "old techniques" such as weaving, pottery, woodworking, carving, etc.
There is so much more involved there than just having a "product" and becomes a unique creation. Love hearing about your project.

Small pearls on a lustrous scarf sounds lovely! I love your last picture on #22, BWeaves. It shows how the fiber looks. Thanks for keeping us updated.

A pearlie scarf sounds amazing, can't wait to see what you do create with this fibre.

I finally finished spinning and 2 plying 8 oz of pearl fiber. I liked it so much, I ordered more. Here's the finished skein of yarn. The photo is larger than life size. The thread is very fine. Lace weight or fingering weight, if you knit. It's very soft, silky and cool to the touch.

I bet it’s just like a pearl, and glows in subdued light.
Bweaves, you do exquisitely fine work!

I think I'm going to weave a shawl out of it. But I'm still waiting for my new loom to arrive, so it's going to be awhile. I will be sure to post when I start weaving.

BWeaves Ohh, I've been wondering how your project has been going. Thank you for the update. Hope your new loom arrives quickly.

Well, tracking says the loom arrived 1-Oct-2021, but the Freight company says they don't have it. Nobody knows where it is. The maker is trying to track it down, but he's upset. He said he'd make me another one, but how to get it to me if the Freight company's tracking is useless?

The maker is in California and I'm in Florida, or I'd just go pick it up myself.

Your yarn is beautiful, BWeaves. Hopefully the loom shows up soon and intact.

Oh, no BWeaves, that's distressing! Glad your loom maker is willing to look into this for you, still ... how does one lose a loom? Hope they find it!

I'd like to know how they lost it, too. It's the size of a piano and it's in a giant wooden crate.

Well, we did manage to lose the Ark of the Covenant and it was quite big, covered in gold, with cherubs on top. Nothing surprises me after this!
