      • Thank you dear pearly friends for your kind words and good wishes

We leave early tomorrow to meet Fleur and the lady who's caring for her at the shelter. It'll be some days yet before I can bring her home as animals aren't released for adoption until they've been de-sexed and Fleur is yet to have this surgery. Fingers crossed for mid next week xxx

        Best regards from Kerry.

        • De-sexed? Maybe you should change her name to Fleurette!

          • I picked up Briar yesterday morning. What a difference. I had to ask the trainer if they had drugged my dog. I threatened to count the spots to make sure it was the same animal. He sits and stays. When I say down he lays down. This is weird. But good. He used to jump in bed and wrestle with me when I got in bed until I put him in the death hold. Then he knew the wrestling was done for the night and he would crash. So I usually had a dogs back against me most of the night. It was a fun game but I decided to put an end to it because I was tired of having dog hair in my bed. So I made him a bed on the floor and he sat and looked at me for a while and I was tempted to say "oh alright" But I didn't and he curled up in his bed and within a few minutes he was snoring. So all good. I will take some pics later when we are on our hike. I don't think the rattlesnakes are out very much yet so I will try him off leash in the hills for the first time today. I will either report we did well. Or I will be looking for a new dog.....And a refund
            More to come

            • Mikeyy,

I've learned to swallow my coffee before reading your posts! Too hilarious!! Hopefully Briar will not relapse! (With a little help from his Dad.)

Actually the name Flirtini was suggested by my son......apparently some type of cocktail he thinks I'd like lol. I brought wee Fleur home four days ago and she's settling in well She has the energy and inquisitive nature of a toddler, this is something of a shock to 12 y.o. Bart and to her humans who'd forgotten what young dogs are like She's a barrel of monkeys who likes to be part of everything until she flops down for a nap to recover!! By which time I'm ready for one too.......lol.

On the flip side she loves to snuggle on laps and beds when she's ready for quiet time and enjoys as much petting as she can get. I love that she wakes up so happy in the morning, stretching her streamlined body, licking my face and wagging her little tail non-stop She comes when she's called which is a novel experience for us, sits when she's told and walks well on lead but like all youngsters has to learn boundaries. However she's smart and eager to please so will learn quickly I think.

I'm so thrilled she's part of our family and that a new adventure has begun

                Regards from Kerry.

All of my Whippets have liked to sleep on beds but this one burrows down under the covers and sleeps IN the bed Another novel experience lol. When she gets too hot (or too oxygen deprived!) she does the commando crawl up the bed and sticks her head and neck out. Once I woke to find her little body next to mine and her head on the pillow like a person! Ah well her hairs are very short........

Mikeyy I was so pleased for you when I read of Briar's transformation and I can imagine your shock when he obey's commands!! Are you used to the new improved Briar yet? I hope your hike went well.

                    • I was out this morning on my daily hike with Briar. This time I had my new camera with. This is how its going. I couldn't let Briar off the leash before because he would run and not come back. Today he was posing amongst the wild flowers and I could allow him to walk ahead of me. So here are a few pics. I am happy. Although I should tell you that yesterday he decided to take off for a swim before I got to him. He was following a duck who decided to stay about ten feet in front of Briar. He was egging the dog out into the lake. Ducks are a bad influence on Briar. They are always getting him in to trouble. Wise quackers. Luckily I didn't have to walk out on ice to get him this time. He actually swam back to me. Then shook and soaked me as well. I love ducks. (for dinner)

My Granddog, Chico, a 10 lb Chihuahua, spent 2 weeks of spring vacation at my place. He loves my faux fur throw! Sometimes on top, sometimes burrowed completely under and in great danger of being sat on--

                            • What do you want edited? Did the button not show up or just not work?

I see. It is too big a pic, so the edit button is off the page to the right.

You need to resize those to 620-x400 or less.
