If my main interest to see an orient in white Freshadama pearl should I go for bigger pearl size or smaller?
Is it easy to see this effect in a strand or individual pearl?

I can only speak for myself; I don't really see orient in my 7-8mm Freshadamas in normal lighting, though in photos I can see it a bit. Luster is fantastic though.

I do see orient in my baroque pearls, however. Orient is generally harder to see in rounds.

Um, the newbie would like to know what "orient" is?? :)

Orient is a rainbow play of colors that results from light being refracted as it passes through layers of nacre.

It's easiest to see it in baroque shaped pearls.

You can see it in this photo:

Such a helpful photo-I wasn't aware that it was harder to see the orient in rounds. That makes a lot of sense though!
