Galatea Tahitian Pearl Pendant Blooms with Diamonds

    Galatea - Jewelry by Artist

Just as Michelangelo said, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.", Chi Galatea Huynh looked at Tahitian pearls and knew that sculpture would set free the gems he envisioned inside -- This from our previous Pearls of the Week here.

This pendant drives home the incredible creativity of Chi Huynh and is a great addition to our Pearls of the Week collection.

Pearls and Lingerie - The Seventh Sphinx

The Seventh Sphinx is a Style Blog with a capital S. The latest pearl musings are all about how well they go with lingerie. But her photos say it all...

"This is a lovely freshwater tin cup necklace from Etsy shop LiliasTreasures and absolutely stunning rosy gold ripple earrings from Pearlescence."

I hope you'll spend some time seeing what The Seventh Sphinx is all about. ...

  • Sea Hunt Pearls, Jack Lynch, and the Souffle' Pearl

Sea Hunt Pearls, Jack Lynch, and the Souffle' Pearl

Back in 2010, Jack Lynch of Sea Hunt Pearls sent a pre-AGTA Tucson show email blast to his clients: a new pearl is coming to town!

    And it's smelly! (When drilled.)

    But very beautiful.

Enter the aptly-named Souffle' Pearl, Jack's gift to the pearl industry...

On opening day, I hustled over to the Sea Hunt Pearls booth and bought several magnificent pearls and took them home. The result: my photograph and article in JCK Magazine have been r...

Tahitian Pearls meet Big Gems in this Utopia Necklace

Magnificent -- yet fun -- this Tahitian pearl necklace looks like it was scooped out of a bowl of hard candies. Utopia has a special knack for mixing large gems with pearls from the South Sea. This treasure shows exactly why Utopia has made their design mark in the jewelry world.

This necklace was one of many beautiful Utopia jewels displayed at the Couture Show in Las Vegas. As I have said before, the opening video on their web page is worth the visit, but ...

Sea Life Fantasy Necklace - Massimo Izzo

This lovely necklace was featured in the design competition at the Couture show in Las Vegas this year, where I captured it to share with our aficionados of pearl jewelry. It has also been featured in an article in the Italian FEM / Emotion Fashion Magazine, October 2014 Editorial. The artist, Massimo Izzo, is incredibly talented. I hope we see more pearls from him in the future.

  • Elyria Jewels Loves Pearls

    Elyria Jewels Loves Pearls

Elyria Jewels has a thing for pearls. I could see it immediately at the AGTA show in Tucson early this year. Elyria is the definition of the phrase "Not your Grandmother's pearls", that is, unless Grandma is a hipster!

Moonstone was made to go with pearls.

Darkly organic and appealing Tahitian pearls.

And their Cat Street collection includes some pieces with abalone pearls.

    Enjoy more at ...

  • Cibjo webinar/discussion on origins of gemstones
    by CortezPearls
Although it is not about PEARLS (but it may include them), some of you may find it interesting, so here is the information:

The origin of a gemstone, namely the geographic location at which it was extracted from the earth, has for years posed substantial scientific challenges to the gemmologists who are called on to make definitive judgements.

The current focus on supply chain integrity and traceability means that the concept of origin has expanded and is more relevant

  • New Bi-Monthly Column: The Sustainability Corner
    by CortezPearls
Hello dear Forum Members: With spring comes renewed energies and pulses, the recent system upgrade also allows me to start adding up content that we believe is necessary to keep the forum growing and renewed, making it the #1 Source for Pearl information on the World-Wide-Web for years to come. I had this idea of a column years ago, when I still published "The Sea of Cortez Peal Blog", which went "black" after a massive Russian hacker attack (the importance of updating your system...

Carolyn Ehret operates Ehret Design Gallery on eBay, a favorite of our members, and myself! If you find yourself having to wait for a car repair or a delayed appointment, I can practically guarantee that the time will fly by while you look at the fun items on her site. Of course, looking can be dangerous to your pocketbook. This is also a great place to find a few gems to add to a necklace or earrings--or just to source beautiful and unusual pearls. I had Carolyn add gold spacer beads and finding...

  • Pearls Make Me Feel Beautiful
    by GemGeek
Looking through photos from this summer, I noticed that all the photos where I am wearing pearls are the ones where I am joyous and glowing. Could there be a transfer of radiance from the pearls to the wearer? Can pearls fill the soul with visible happiness? I'm not sure, but I love my self-purchase of pearls from little h beyond measure.

Happy Blaire, followed by closeups of the pearls...
