My brother came across this page and brought it to my attention because he thought the prices were good for Tahitian pearls. When I saw it I got the feeling something was wrong. They have an interesting mix of "black," "Tahitian black," and "black Tahitian" pearls. When you take a look at the product detail page, however, the real story comes out, as the more expensive items are listed as "Tahiti pearl" while the cheaper ones are simply labeled "black pearl." Yet another unfortunate case of consumers likely being misled.

Hmmm.I guess "tahitian black" is now a color name... as opposed to a pearl type...

Just another reason why I am so happy to have found Pearl-Guide. I hope more people start researching before they buy.

This practice has been going on for quite a while. It's especially popular on ebay, just search for "tahitian black" and you'll see what I mean.
