Good luck with your ebay venture, luckykelleyk! The Hawaiin pieces are indeed very nice and might suit someone perfectly. Personally, I love the ring, but there are just too many other things on the wish list.

I do wear a pearl solitaire, and I love it (actually THEM, I have 2, one white gold with a large FW dyed black, and a yellow gold with white 14mm FW that I found recently). I enjoy wearing these even more than wearing my 1.8carat diamond solitaire (but please don't tell my husband, as he felt very special buying such a gorgeous piece for me). You see - suddenly your pearl wishes look very inexpensive! I have to say, I think you will get far more wear out of the solitaire - I wear mine when I just don't want to wear a full strand, or when what I'm wearing is a bit "busier" - a lovely, simple look. Still want the GSS in yellow gold version of the other, though!

Thanks! I think I would wear the solitaire more too. Im young (22) and a college student, so needless to say, Im usually not dressed up enough to wear a full strand. The solitaire is versatile for casual wear, and dressing up.

Just something to consider (and this may not be an issue at all), but the setting may be discontinued before you have a chance to purchase it. I have waited on too many things only to find what I want is no longer available. My vote is to purchase the more exotic/difficult to find piece to ensure you get it. A single pearl is always an option, the setting may not be.

Good luck with your Ebay sale.

May I suggest that you consider stating, in your description section, what your reserve price is? (I won't be bidding.)

The topic of whether or not to state the reserve often comes up on eBay discussion boards, and overwhelmingly the advice given is that you are more likely to sell it if buyers know what your reserve is.

You are still protected from having to accept less than your reserve, and people often bid an item over the reserve. But many won't bid when the reserve is a secret.

Just a suggestion.

thanks for that, I actually didn't know that the reserve was hidden (it isn't when I look at it). I have never set a reserve price before.

I re-listed the item, with a 500.00 reserve. Here is the link
