I have been a lurker here for a couple of months and finally thought I would chime in. Great website and forum, everybody. It has been so valuable to me!
I just wanted to say I bought my first necklace of pearls recently and I bought them on the Internet. I was just here to research, but I learned so much from so many people that I decided to even shop for pearls on the Internet.
I am now the proud owner of a necklace of AAA Tahitian pearls that are more beautiful than anything I have seen anywhere, at any store. And the amount of money I saved for better stuff is unbelievable.
Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

Hi JZee,

Welcome! Your new pearls sound wonderful! Any chance of a photo??
And you may say where you purchased them if you like. You had lots more choices shopping online than if you had gone to a store, and let them sell you something for an unbelievable price!!

I tried to take a photo with my camera-fone when I read your message. Note to self, camera-fones do not take good pictures of pearls!
But so the pearls are dark green but you can also see red and some purple. I can see my reflection like has been suggested here also. I have been shopping for quite a while now so I do know that I am and should be ecstatic.

I did not want to break any forum rules by mentioning, but I bought them from Amanda Raab at PurePearls.com.

Thanks everyone once again!

Yes, pearls are notoriously hard to photograph! There are many forum posts (you can do a search if you like) discussing that subject! Your pearls sound just gorgeous! I love the dark green, and with the other colors too! WOW! You will love them forever!! I hope you get many compliments too.

Hi JZee,

it is quite OK to mention from which seller You bought Your pearls, especially when the seller is honest. I have bought my Akoyas from Amanda and am very satisfied with what I got. Can you get some other camera and send us photos of the strand?

Yay! I have Tahitians and freshwater baroques from Amanda and I love them both equally. Good decision.

Okay. I have taken pictures inside, outside, with sunlight and with houselight. Every picture almost looks like a different necklace. So this is really the only picture that I relly thinks shows off the beauty and the changing colors.

You can sort of see what I am talking about in this one too. But this one is a little out of focus.
I guess that senior elective in photography for a semester did not pay off

I think these are terrific pictures and you picked up the color play well! The pearls are beautiful. May I ask what size they are? 10mm? 12 mm?

Those really are some beauties, and very good photos as well.

The strand must be a 9-10mm, or there about. It has exactly 43 pearls which is the 9-10mm standard.

JZee,
Congratulations on the excellent photography, and taste in pearls! I realize a nice black tahitian strand is missing from my collection!

I second that. The pearls are beutifully round and blemishfree, it seems to me from the pictures!

looks like you got a great strand with some very nice overtones - good work.

How come nobody ever posts pics of them actually wearing their jewelry though?
