Can anyone advise how the cost of Tahitian pearls varies based on color, all other things being equal?

There is no simple answer to that question as Tahitians come in every color imaginable. Some rare colors are extremely valuable and are referred to as exotics, like near neon blue with rose.

For the most part, Tahitians with a dull gray to blue colorations are the least valuable. Dark pearls, or pearls with strong green, purple, rose, are very good, and peacock is one of the best.

Also, for those who aren't familiar with the valuable "peacock", it is a range of overtones on the pearls.
