    Hi Kevin,

I am not sure how you got to that feedback rating you linked there, but the seller in question had over 15,000 positive feedbacks from buyers. The rating that you pulled up was from one of that seller's customers, so it is no big surprise that this buyer had no sell ratings.

    Hi Kevin and Pearl Newbie--

Yes, if you looked at my feedback score on my ebay account, you would also see that I have never sold on ebay, only made purchases. The store you show, Kevin, isnt the same as the one PearlNewbie asked about. If purchasing a pearl necklace, or a fine strand I would go to one of the forum members, now that I know about you, that way I would be sure of getting an excellent value for my $$. (Yet, I admit I am a Lowly-Wannabe-Beader who has bought supplies on ebay.)

    Default Akoya pearls

    G'day everybody,

This is my first post, even though I have been following your posts for some time.

I operate a fish farm in Botany Bay, Sydney, Australia which has also trialled Akoya pearls as per. Port Stephens (not far away) recently.

I am currently finalising a plan to produce pearls, however the marketing plan has taken some time to complete.

We have a healthy local / tourist part to the marketing plan, however if we do decide to export the best of the crop which is our best option.

How do we compete with the chinese?

Looking forward to your valued comments, (www.s-b-a.com.au)

    Hire chinese people

I am no expert in this field, but since Botany Bay is encircled by heavily urbanized zones, I thought pollution would be an issue. There's also the airport and the Caltex refinery right on the bay...
Do P. maxima grow in this region of the world? Isn't the water too cold?

    Hi Patricia
Your analysis at the top of the page was very good. Go sraight to Pearl expert. Do not stop at Member

    Hi Newbie
Actually I think those pearls are quite over priced. Breaking up a strand is a trick that gets one lot more dough per strand. The only possible reason to buy them would be if they really are 9+mm as that is a hard size to buy, but I still would hate to pay for 4 pearls at a time!
