Smile Inherited Pearls! Would like some Info? :)

Hello, I'm Fairly New here as I had just Joined up to ask a Question about some Pearls that My Grandmother had left me after She had died...

I was told that they where Worth something, but unfortunately I wasn't told an Exact Price etc... So am Here to basically ask if these Pearls that I was left are indeed Worth anything or Not?¿? .

They are Single Strand. No idea How many Pearls but they Vary in Size!

    Pictures attached:

    Thank You!

    Welcome to the forum!

A sentimental remembrance of your Grandmother, indeed. The graduated strands are always in style, and you have a very lustrous strand of imitation pearls, to wear and treasure.

Smile Inherited Pearls! Would like some Info? :)

    Hello,

Quite recently, My Grandmother had died and in Her Will (along with a few Other things!) she had left me some Pearls as she had always known that I had liked them! -I tend to like Sparkly things! Don't ask!-.

Anyway... I had Offered them to My Fiancée and She had declined them as She prefers Diamonds!

Anyway I shall upload a three Copies of the Pictures below!

If someone could Please how much they are Worth! Then I would be Very Appreciative!

    Thank You,

    Kindest Regards.

Wow, it's funny, but they don't even look like pearls to my eyes (I am a beginner so don't take any notice of me - others will come along and help you). The reason I say what I do is because they look so shiny - shiny rather than lustrous. These beads seem to shine from the outside, whereas all the pearls I've seen (not many) shine from within..? Also, they are not individually knotted but don't know if that's significant. Not all pearl neckalces are. The clasp doesn't look cheap... and not sure why on the label the phrase is in quotation marks. Quite often if the word pearl is written "pearl" (with quotation marks) it means it isn't a pearl. But again, I don't know a great deal about pearls. I'm doing some guesswork. Wait and see what others say.

    P.S. Declining pearls????!!!!

There were several replies to your post and photos on 7-26 here: http://www.pearl-guide.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108 Please scroll down to post #5.

These are very pretty imitation pearls, not cultured or natural pearls. Clearly they have sentimental value as a remembrance of your Grandmother.

What they are saying is- these are not real pearls. They are man made. If you want to know what you can get for them, search eBay for faux, or simulated pearls etc and look for one like yours.

Sorry for the news, but we are not the right forum for fake pearls. Nice meeting you though!

Wow - I guessed right! I'm so pleased with myself. This forum has taught me some things about pearls.
