Default A mirror like Abalone pearl

Just found this pearl while grading pearls for stock and I am just so fascinated by its lustre and even nacre that I have to share it with you! It seems to follow the rule: the smaller they are the more roundish in shape and even in nacre their appearance. But this pearl has a reflection like a hematite.

    Terrific pearl, congratulations!

What species of haliotis are you working with?

To Lagoon Island Pearls we are working with the Haliotis Iris and have always been stunned by the nice shades of deep blue, green and pink. But we are also collect and work with south sea pearls and freshwater pearls.
It is a 0.37ct pearl Pattye and yes the reflection is captured best in the middle of the pearl.

One of the finest I have seen...good luster indeed. Most Abalone pearls have noticeable skin imperfections...but such is the Nature of the Beast.
