Those photos are a bit too small to see well, but what I think I see are Chinese cultured pearls, slightly ringed. May we have a close up of a few pearls and of the clasp? The pearls in the back of the necklace are either flattened out a bit or are they distorted by the lens?

Who told you? That is, where or from whom, and when did you get them?

Unfortunately, it is not true. Somebody lied.

They are ringed potato pearls. Some of them are dyed and some are of natural color. It's a fun color combination, but the pearls aren't very valuable, unfortunately. Strands are sold by the thousands for a few dollars apiece at trade shows.

    Thanks for the larger photos!!!

Jeremy is right. Those are inexpensive, but fun, pearls. I am sorry you got told a line- hope you didn't pay too much-

They look like Pelosi junior pearls- that is, same idea, but much smaller. Pelosi's monster pearls probably did take a bit of time to put together.

That particular strand was sold on QVC by Honora a couple of years ago. I recognize the clasp. I recall they sold for around $100.

Brilliant, Pattye! Just when Pelosi's pearls were all over the place!

I just visited your stores. You have some great stuff! You must be really busy, making all that- and collecting the stuff to make it. I love your taste!

I was going to suggest Honora too based on that clasp, lol. It's the one where the post sort of snaps in, right? And you squeeze the body of the clasp to remove it?

Your Grandmother may have heard people on the shopping channel say something about how hard they are to match. They often exaggerate and sometimes they just don't know what they're talking about. This necklace was probably one of a few thousand sold on an evening program. It's cute, so enjoy wearing it.

Exactly the one, Jeremy! I'm seeing similar styles offered by some of the major finding suppliers now. They are supposed to be somewhat easier for those with dexterity issues.
