    Default Majorica Joras Y Pearls

I need some serious advice. I have had a full set of these pearls for years and would live to sell them but I have to say I would have absolutely no idea on price etc. I can send pics, but who can I send them to to have a look. Thanks

    Welcome Wendy,

Majorica Pearls are imitation, man made pearls, not cultured pearls or natural pearls. Check out ebay for items similar to yours. Watch list them and see what they sell for. There are almost 200 listings, so you may find some pieces just like yours. They are collectible, and some women prefer to travel with imitation pearls rather than their "good stuff."

What do you mean by a full set?

Thank you for replying, I will have a look on eBay and see what I can find then. Full set meaning, necklace, bracelet, ring, earrings and broach. Thanks again.

Majorica imitation pearls sell pretty well on eBay, especially if they are more desirable sizes and lengths.

Thank you for your advice, I have gone onto eBay to check if I can find something familiar to what I have and had no luck. So saying that I would have absolutely no idea what to sell them for. Thanks

By the way there is a typo in the title-- "Joras" ought to read "Joyas" (joyas = jewels).

Search eBay using search terms "Majorica pearls", not the whole term "Majorica Joyas Y Perlas" (Majorica Jewels and Pearls), which is too limiting and will not bring up enough results.

And completed listings, which show the selling prices actually realized, lowest to highest:

It's absurd, people are apparently willing to pay more for fake pearls than for real ones.

    Wendytu,

This is what I would do~

Look through the sold Majorica items to get comparables as the double necklace of yours would be roughly equivalent to some of the longer ropes that have sold. Take an average price.

Do the same for bracelets, rings, earrings. They don't have to be exactly the same to see what people are willing to pay.

Your set is a more formal style with all the crystals, which may have less appeal in today's market. You can see even Nieman Marcus's listings are going unsold.

Decide on a "Buy It Now" price if selling on ebay, based on the research you've done. and allow buyers to also make an offer. Show lots of photos! Good Luck!!!!

So true, Wendy~too many still have no idea what amazing pearls are available, and probably think nice pearls will cost many thousands. Our mission: EDUCATE AND ADORN!!
