    Default Tahitian Carved Pearl Strands

Here's one of newest carved Tahitian pearl offerings (debuting at June 2012 JCK): Calla Lilly Carved Tahitian Pearls. Our company, Galatea Jewelry by Artist of San Dimas, will have seven new styles -- 18" finished necklaces in Tahitian, white or peach freshwater. We've recently partnered with Tahiti Rava Rava Pearl to build a new carving factory in Vietnam (where all of our pearls are carved).

    Welcome B Moss,

Very interesting, no doubt more beautiful in person! I like the flow of this design. Are just the pearls in the front carved? I'd love to see photos of this in the freshwater also. Are these carved by hand with a dremel-type tool? Or by machine?

Chi Galatea Huynh has been a member here since Fall, 2007 when he participated briefly on the forum. Some of us were fortunate to meet him in Tucson 2008, and see in person the amazing carved pearls with the turquoise centers and gemstone insets. Congratulations on your continued success and expansion.

Great memory (as usual) Pattye. Be nice to hear from Chi again.
Wanted to add as well that Tahiti Rava Rava Pearl has been a long time buyer of Kamoka Pearl. Best of luck B_Moss! Let us know how it goes please.

Thanks, Pattye. The carved pearls are carved completely around--the design is on all sides. The work is done with special tools he (Chi) developed over the past 15 years. They're then polished, so when you see the pearls, especially the Tahitian pearls, you see many different colors. They're really spectacular. All done by hand at our factory in Soc Trang, Vietnam. We're building a second factory now with TRRP for carving. The artisans are all trained by Chi, who drops by this forum only occasionally with some prompting. I'll try to post an image of the freshwater carved pearls. They're really lovely. This is the carved peach freshwater Queen III bracelet with one of each of our new pearl carving styles.

Thanks so much, Josh. Teraiareva Frogier from TRRP will be manning the booth with us at JCK. Don't know if he's ever been to that show before!

    Hi B-Moss
We are all so in awe of Chi and his exquisite work! I totally love, love, love that freshwater carved necklace. I hope you do many more!

Now, are you his publicity guy or something like that? If so, I hope you will add a signature with a link that allows us to go to a website where we can buy, buy, buy!!!!

I thought I was done with pearls, especially since I recently acquired an abalone pearl, but I so love the look of that necklace- Has it got a mystery clasp? If so, I think that is a wonderful idea.

    Default Galatea Pearls

I was attending a continuing education seminar in Seattle a couple of weeks ago and walked past the jewelry store that sells Pandora. Went in to buy a few more Pandora beads and found these fabulous Galatea Tahitian pearls. I had been thinking about drilling out some of my own tahitian pearls to put on my Pandora bracelet, but found these instead. They are a fun addition to wear. I took them off my metal Pandora bracelet to photograph them.
