I would like to know the value of the 1972 cultured pearls that came with a booklet that is signed by Lane Crawford LTD. Mikimoto Cultured Pearls Guarantee Length 21", Diameter of Pearls 6 1/2 mm (Centre), 6 mm (End), Date Sold 5/8/72. Registered Trade Mark is on the pearls. Purchased Hong Kong: Lane Crawford House, China Fleet Club.

Hi, margiev, and welcome. if you're thinking about selling your pearls, you can do a search of completed auctions on eBay for similar items. This will give you an idea of what people are willing to spend. Things that affect value include the metal of the clasp, condition of the necklace and documentation of authenticity.

If you want to insure the pearls, Mikimoto provides appraisals. The Mikimoto website says:

How do I get an appraisal for my pearl jewelry?

You can obtain an appraisal of your Mikimoto jewelry either through a Mikimoto store or an authorized Mikimoto retailer. To find a location, please visit our store locator page. You must bring or send your Mikimoto jewelry to the store and they will be appraised at a nominal fee. If you are unable to bring your Mikimoto jewelry in person, we recommend that you send it using Federal Express or UPS Overnight. However, you may choose your own preferred shipping method as long as it is insured and traceable.
