A thread like this can have legs, but over time. It's a great idea.

This is so intriguing. Anyone lucky enough to spot one of those darn critters that produced the blisters? Do they actually thrive or die behind the pearly bulge?
i hope to find a seahorse or something like that in it one day :P i know about 3 shells that have fish in them on naturalpearls.ch there is one on http://www.naturalpearls.ch/
I just found this one the other day in the Pet Store I work at part-time. Its pretty small and misshappen. Sorry for the terrible photo.
Oh wow, oh wow, oh WOW!!!
Mr Thomas Hochstrasser has one killer collection. I can't get over the pink and pomegranate red conch pearls.
Amazing; he should be sharing his expertise here on PG.
I love the way the pearls have been displayed next to the shells, similar to the way they were found in situ.
Again, wow.
Few month ago I posted a Thread: “Pinctada shell found with 85 natural pearls in it”
My Pinctada has many big blister pearls, I post some photos and ask if someone can tell me how they were formed.

Glad you found this thread Gianpiero! Your pearls in a shell are perfect here, as well as in their own thread.
ciao gianpiero,
are there many small holes at the back of the shell ?
most shells i have with blisters show clearly where an intruder came in
this week a had a tridacna squamosa with a 7 cm long blister send to me and some other nice shells with blister pics will follow soon![]()
Ciao,
I don’t note small holes but may be perforating animals, now I post a photo of the back of the shell and some radiography made by CISGEM.
