Alex, Trixie would never in this lifetime sit still for such frivolity. Not that I haven't tried. But when I put the pearls on her, they disappear into her long fur and you just can't see them anyway.
Mary M, I looked and looked for settings for this pearl. I did see some I liked on other websites, but you needed to have a resale license, and I just have not sent for one yet, although I do have the paperwork. I really do have to mail it, so I can have more variety to choose from. This particular pendant setting was from Riogrande.com, and in the end, I really do like it.
Syd, That baroque necklace is FW from John Tu, and it is amazing. I have some other photos of it I'll post.
And Pattye, you ain't kidding. I LOVE making my own jewelry. In fact alot of my pieces I would not have if I had to buy it already done. I don't mind at all choosing findings for pearls and knotting my own strands. I've gotten really good at making a tight knot and finishing neatly. I've been doing the wire wrapping for alot of years, got to be over 10, and I'm pretty particular about having it even and having the loops the same size.
Marianne, that souffle strand! I see this photo of mine and I'm in love, but in some lights it seems kinda too gray. Then I look at it again, and see all the colors. It is a real changeling.
Here are more photos, I'm getting to the end, maybe some photos of rings after this, but alas, I'm running out of my personal pearl jewelry to share.
The top photo is a couple of akoya strands I own, and a light pink FW pearl bracelet with 22k vermeil clasp that I made yesterday. Next photo is super shiny small nugget strand I knotted. I bought the pearls from John Tu. Next two pics are of a tahitian and sterling neckace. Next another pic of the akoyas, and one of the pink FW bracelet. Then there is a large gray tahitian set with 14k beads and faceted black garnet disks. I loved the tuxedo look of this one when I made it. Sparkles like crazy. Next is colorful reborn strand I made and another shot of John's pearls.
Then there is another photo of the baroque FW John Tu pearls, and last is a bracelet of John's pearls, but I will be redoing it, I don't like the clasp. Just does not seem to fit the piece.
Boy, I sure hope I am not boring you people.
No Yokota Hanadama - or have you changed the clasp...?
well, I had to ask didn't I......![]()
Alex
No, these are 7.5mm akoya. They are varying lengths. Still have the Yokota and would never change the flower pearl clasp, but I have it listed in my PG photo album, so didn't t list it here. Can you believe the quality of pearl that John Tu has? I'm pretty lucky to have access to him.
yes, you ARE lucky there Dian
"Still have the Yokota and would never change the flower pearl clasp, but I have it listed in my PG photo album, so didn't t list it here"
of course, I has to go and have another look at the Yokotas... my excuse was that I've re-calibrated 'Pearldar' after all the goings-on on PG recently, and wanted to test him out
no squeak squeak squeak this time, just a little pause and then this kind of screaming noise - you know, like a kettle used to make if you left it on the hob...
They are so beautiful, and the size just carries them into that 'truely exceptional' class. Simply stunning

Thank you Alex, you truly are a pearl lover and a joy to "know". I will post some photos of the Yokotas here then. I have other photos of them I didn't put in the album - after I have my Sunday morning coffee in bed.......
I thought it would be interesting to see the 'pre' pics of the strand. The first couple of photos was the 'choosing' process. The vendor sent me several different shots of the two strands I was interested in. I was leaning toward the 'white/silvery' and not the pink. I am pretty pale and although I love pinks, and have many pinkish pearls, they kind of meld into my skin tone. I eventually did go with the white/silvery strand and have absolutely no regrets. They are my FAVORITE pearls. Even photos don't show the luster and beauty. My strand is #2 in the top photo, and the whiter strand in the other photos. Enjoy!
Wait a minute, wait a minute, I'm coming late into this... I thought I knew 'hanadama' but, pray tell, what's 'yokota'?
No worry Adeline, you have not missed any type of new info on hanadamas. Yokota Pearl is the vendor in Japan where I purchased my hanadama strand. (Way before I joined PG.)
Ha ha. Thought it was a new pearling terminologyGorgeous, btw.
Well, admitting you have a problem is the first step...lol.
Wow! Eye candy super supreme, and that's on a tiny screen. Can't wait to see them super size on library screen!
Woah! Really really 'pearlicous' stuff. Georgous collection. Think you are boring us, are you kidding? I'm litterally drooling. You're killing me, but keep going! Thanks for sharing.
Alright...OK....I know it has been awhile since I added, but I had to share these new pieces. Just got them like 4 days ago, and I am extremely pleased with the quality, considering I got them at...ahmmm...HSN. But they are from Josh Bazar. I have been in lust for a abalone blue pearl for quite a long time, but price was prohibitive and...what if when it came I was not happy with the colors I received. Being able to order from Josh's program and being able to return if necessary, was a big relief. Without further chattering...
