    Default The designer's corner

This thread is for the great designs you have done yourself or seen elsewhere. You designers- we want to see your latest!!! Whether you sell or not, we just want to see what you are doing and what you are using!

This is a necklace without much design, but I just wanted the pearl and amethysts together.

OK, so now you know you can do at least this well- let's see some creations!

Here is second photo wearing it with a 8ft long strand I just received from Dawn.

Here is a recent bracelet I made. It is Chinese Kasumi-Like and 22k vermeil on silk.

These I adore; Dian, I am so jealous - pinkalicious kasumi lookalikes.

Default Light Golden South Sea Pearls & Tourmaline

This one has loads of 18kt and 22kt gold in it. Too much to sell really. All the components cost so much that I shuddered when I added it all up. I had been wanting to put tourmaline and SS pearls together though and then all the gold. But I do love it.

    More coming.

I have long loved amethyst and pearl together. These are very inexpensive pearls- extreme potatos for the size, but the luster is yummy and pearls and amethyst... I just love the combo. used a single amethyst and three pearls then I added an extra amethyst the fourth round. Just to get the rhythm going a little. I only knotted the three pearls in the middle of each section.

My battery was going dead or I would have arranged the combo a bit better to show off the strand with the amethysts. I think this will be my Christmas combo. I totally LOVE the 8 foot strand and all the combos I can wear with it. I am really a rope person at heart. And I like to pile on the ropes!

YEAH! Finally a minute to focus on designs and share! I have been "neck deep" in shows and writing emails.. I have not had much time to design lately, but these are my current favorites..
(also love the pink and gold Chinese Kasumi bracelet.. must be fun to wear it!)
Thanks for making this thread Caitlin!
The first is a necklace of black satin CORD with 14K yellow gold wire and Chinese Kasumi ripple drop pearls (was recently lambasted for misspelling it as chord .. ha I will never do that again
The second photo is of some vermeil earrings.. I am really into these long graceful caps right now.. they look like old gold and they work with every pearl I put with them.
The third photo is of a necklace a friend of mine created, I LOVE this piece, sterling silver and a fabulous use of super baroque Chinese keshi pearls!
The last photo.. still in love with these pearl brooches. They are hand made by a little "old" lady in HK and they have been a big hit! She uses really great quality pearls and they really remind me of an are long gone when gloves matched the hat, which matched the handkerchief.. etc. etc... before work out clothes were acceptable daily attire!
Hopefully more new designs to come .. I have a lot of inspiration right now. KEEP UP THIS THREAD PLEASE!
    Cheers, Sarah

Thanks Sarah! Incredible work coming out of your studio! The scallops on the top left remind me of the cover photo of "Pearls". I would love to see that one modeled.

Oooh...can I too get in on this?

Here's two pairs that are heavy on gemstones (you know I love them):
    - a pastel palette (tanzanite, namibian chalcedony, welo opal, moss amethyst, pink quartz and rare white iolite) with saltwater keishi pearl accents
    - a pink cornucopia (oregon, sunstone, tourmalines, sapphires, rubies and three types of garnet) with metallic baroque peach pearl focals.

Findings are all vermeil and gold-fill; can't afford the upgrade

Oh and my one last post to end off the year. Ironically, the simplest design I've made: sets of gemstone and pearl charms for the necks of my teen nieces. The pearl crosses were from the HK trip. These are so late I doubt it'll make it to the UK by Christmas

Now those ripple pearl drops are really something, Sarah; I can imagine then dangling so tantalisingly all over the decolletage.
As usual, fabulous! I always have such a fine time checking out Kojima online and I love the little nuggets of info on your blog.

    Hi Caitlin,

Those Amethyst on your pearl necklace look like they are a good quality. Don't look treated at all. Your two necklaces look great together and great on you. You sure are a rope person. You will have to get hubby to take a photo of you on Christmas day and share it with us.

Jeweljunke - that is a beautiful bracelet and the vermeil sets off the colours perfectly. Lovely.

Sarah - I love your Chinese ripple drops on silk. Really stunning. Would love to see it worn. There are all beautiful.

Going to add some of my own but like you I haven't had much time for designing lately and I am really missing it. I have a few pieces half started waiting for me to get back to them after starting my sale. Just so much work in selling we don't get enough time to design and do the fun bits.
