    Default Raffle

Speaking of Josh, isn't it about that time of year when we buy raffle tickets? The proceeds benefit third world countries, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the organization. Last year the wins were a Kamoka pearl, and a hotel stay in NYC I think. Does anyone remember the name of the organization?

Thank you, Sheryl! I was reading through the results of my "raffles" search, and got sidetracked into reading about Mokume Gane. I'm grateful to you, you're an angel!

Lisa and Ramona, apologies but I have to wait further still before putting pics up of the leather jewelry (it's complicated but all good). Thanks though for your interest.

Pearl Dreams, SO glad to hear it! What you did by participating in the auction is a beautiful thing as well!

I can hardly wait. Is it possible to get some kanga cord? Maybe a meter or so? Or just enough to string a pearl on it. I think my giant "goddess" keshi pearl would like to hang out on kangaroo leather.

Hey Josh, glad to hear that you have jumped in on the kangaroo leather (didn't I mention it previously somewhere?). It is a great soft leather and works so well ... We do some great pieces for children's jewellery using kangaroo, too. It is soft enough to form well around little wrists! Can't wait to see your pics and congrats again on supporting such a great organization.

I'm also interested in sources for kangaroo cord.

Edit: Hmmm, how about this Caitlin? https://www.beadmecca.com/?cat_id=483
It would have to be braided, though.

Also I just checked eBay under "kangaroo leather lace"-- there are a few listings.

I vowed to be on top of it this year and here you've beat me to it! I was waiting until Passports With Purpose launched their fundraising site on Nov. 30th before drawing our attention to it. So here is the site's URL: http://www.passportswithpurpose.org/ This year they are raising money for a library in Zambia. You can also get into the spirit of this by reading how the donations were used from last years fundraiser. I'll post again on Nov. 30th under the famous $10 Kamoka pearl teaser.
