Thread: Looking for Tahitian pearl pendants

Default Looking for Tahitian pearl pendants

    Hello,

I'm looking for a Tahitian pendant to give my wife for Christmas. I feel like I've hit almost every website there is, but I can't find what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for something in the 11-12mm range with white gold. I want the rest of the pendant to have some size so it doesn't look like just a pearl (and nothing else). But everything I see online ends up having the price greatly increased because they are loaded with diamonds.

Does anyone have advice on where I could look for something like this?

    Thanks!

    Something like this?

I know the pearl size is different, but they could probably just use a larger pearl.

Thanks for reminding me of that piece! I remember it got design tested here and was well-liked! I love it. It is unique, not traditional at all, but a hint ancient.

I know that setting. We used to carry it a few years back, but it dropped it because it just want that popular.

I'm trying to think of something similar without diamonds, but am drawing a bit of a blank. Most of the designs that have a lot of metal will have diamonds. Stuller has quite a few designs (http://www.stuller.com/browse/jewelr...earl/pendants/), but not anything similar to the linked piece.

Those are all South Sea Pearls. I liked the seashell. A page with Tahitians?

    Default Quality

What do you think about the quality of Tehitian pearls?
At The Pearl Source, they use a AAAA, AAA, AA, A....which corresponds to A, A/B, C, D. How noticeable is the difference between AAA and AAAA?
I'm thinking about these 3 options:

    1. http://www.thepearlsource.com/_36_collection_413.htm
Where I'd either upgrade to AAA or AAAA 11mm

    2. http://www.thepearlsource.com/_36_collection_627.htm

    3. http://www.thepearlsource.com/_36_collection_753.htm

What do you think? Is it better to have 3 9mm Tihitians or 1 11mm? Too many options!

Gosh, those options are SO different (the triple drops being linked with wire, much more "contemporary". The cast piece is a lot more "classic" looking).

Do you think she leans toward one style more than the other? (I still say it might be a good idea to buy a loose pearl and then find a pendant and have it set. I was just on Stullers website - wow, they have TONS of pearl settings)

I didn't see anything on Stullers website that caught my eye. Do you know any other websites that sell the setting by itself?

Why don't you design one? A rough idea is fine. Post it so we can see what you envision. We have some great shoppers here, we could find it!

Rough idea: white gold; something elaborate so that it doesn't look like it's just a pearl; the kicker is that I don't really want to pay for all the diamonds. I'd rather put that money towards the pearl. Here's something that would be in the same family: http://www.amazon.com/PearlsOnly-Dio...40695&sr=1-157

I'm looking for something in white gold without any diamonds. I'd rather put the diamond money towards a better pearl. I'd like the mounting to be kind of elaborate, maybe something like this:

I like the curves, but that point is bad. It could actually poke her!

https://www.riogrande.com/Product/St.../696978?pos=54 This one is important looking but it in silver only. It costs 60+shipping with the fw pearl which could easily be substituted with a pearl of your choice.

This one https://www.riogrande.com/Product/14.../628230?pos=66 is in white gold for $124.+

This one is yellow gold. https://www.riogrande.com/Product/14.../624523?pos=71 but I like the heart shapes.

Wait a minute!!!!! How about this one! Very similar to the one you put up. About 180+ https://www.riogrande.com/Product/14.../645995?pos=78

I think that one might be a little too wide. Maybe something that's a little longer/skinnier. Hmm...

Try the last one I posted. It is the best!

I am a leo so I like hearts. I really like this heart on the same page as the one you posted http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...buyingguide-20
just switch out the pearl. I had to use this image, but it is from the same company as the one you posted.

I do like that one a lot. What does "Mounting/Bezel size(s) shape(s): 5mm pearl" mean?
