Default Help me choose from the following pendants

Hi everyone, my girlfriend's birthday is coming up, and I'm trying to decide on which of these three Tahitian pendants to get:

    http://www.pearlparadise.com/Classic...endant145.aspx
My preference here is probably the peacock overtone in the 10-11mm range, landing at ~$300. 11-12mm for only $50 ($364 in my configuration) seems like a good choice though.

    http://www.pearldistributors.com/tah...ollection.html
I was thinking the same configuration here: peacock in either 10-11mm or 11-12mm. I believe there is a 10% coupon floating around the web, making the 11-12mm $349.

    http://www.purepearls.com/fame-tahit...1mm-black.html
The peacock/11-12mm configuration here lands at about $380, which is slightly more than the other places.

So considering the pearl quality and the vendor, what would you choose?

    -Brian

The Pearlparadise choice has a much nicer setting IMO.

Oh, man, pearls are so personal especially colored ones. They're all beautiful. Can you take a peek into her jewelry box? Look at the colors she wears the most often from her closet. Take her window shopping before taking her to a movie in a mall. Then thank God for the wonderful return and exchange policies of the online vendors here.

What does your gut tell you? Let us know, ok?

I'm tied between Pure Pearls and Pearl Paradise. You know they have a good selection, right? But you arent't buying for me, so drag that girl out to a mall with a movie theater and jewelry stores for her input, then hurry back here for the real shopping!

Which ever company you decide on ask for a picture of the actual pendant so you can verify that the color matchs the picture.

Actually, if you contact any one of us with a specific color/overtone request, we'll put together a selection of pearls for you to choose from, photograph them and email you the images so you can pick your favorite- at least that's my SOP.

My gut actually agrees with Jeweljunke in that I like the Pearl Distributors setting more than the others. As far as the overtone, I thought peacock since it has the most color diversity.

Thanks for the tip about asking for the photo before ordering, it is a good idea to take a look at it even with the 90 day return policy.

And thanks to everyone for the prompt replies. I am leaning towards the Pearl Distributors pendant due to the setting, but I am still open to people's opinions in the meantime. I will let you know when I place the order.

If that is the one you are drawn to, go for it. Jewelry is a personal purchase so you should always lean toward your own taste.

Whoops, I actually misread your post. I actually like the Pearl Distributors style, as it seems cleaner.

Let us know what the GF likes, ok? because settings can be got by any of the vendors represented here -right? They make every effort to make what you desire, work with you.

The pearl is The One of a Kind Issue, not the setting! oOPS! I was a big-mouth-frog just then. I will add - IMHOpinion, ok?

I was getting ready to say just that! Regardsless of what you choose, your girl friend is going to be sooooo happy (or she is ungrateful ).

I think you should go for what you would love your girl friend to wear.

Well thanks everyone. I did go for the Pearl Distributors pendant, contacting them first and getting a choice of pearls.

My options were between these two:

Name: Loose Tahitians 11-12mm AAA m.jpg
Views: 173
Size: 48.8 KB

I decided on the leftmost pearl because it had a more varied peacock overtone. The rightmost one was nice, but appeared too one-dimensionally green.

Service was fairly quick and everyone is helpful. I wanted to get it by Friday since we're going out to dinner then. They were good about responding quickly and advising me on lead times (when I should get the order in, shipping methods, etc).

    It came in today:

    Name: IMG_1470.jpg
Views: 173
Size: 12.2 KB

My photo doesn't really represent it well, it is much darker in person. I like it, the overtone is more subtle than the images would suggest. The pearl is blemish free as far as I can tell, and does shine nicely. For now I am happy, but the final test is how well my gf likes it :-P

Thanks again for the help everyone.
