Interesting. I like to know the background of these things. Interesting how they cut back on production to raise the prices (kind of like the oil producing countries do).....

After writing that the pearl industry provides much work for the region, the author wraps up with the fact that a machine can replace 15 workers, and will. That's progress; I know it's inevitable, but it's sad.

It's also weird that both aspects are reported in a cheerful, upbeat manner, as if unrelated. Do you think that's the author's way of reporting the bad news while avoiding the censors? Like giving bad feedback on ebay under the guise of good feedback( like "what you'd expect for this price"); I can't figure it out otherwise.
