Default New Pearl Farm in WA's Pilbara

Pearl farming is being revived in Western Australia's Pilbara region with the first farm opening next month.

They are far from other farms, which probably lessens the risk of epizootics such as the one that occured in 2006.
And far from the natural gas plant that's supposed to be built in the Kimberley. Maybe not such a bold move after all.

If the report is correct, they are seeding next month and harvesting just 14-15 months later. A bit quick it seems. It makes me wonder if this husband and wife team has the capital to make a real go at this. Good luck to them.
