Hi, I have some Tahitians, some excellent, some good and some lousy but even the lousy which I do not design with have a very thick nacre (they are great as a reference). I have one 1/2 pearl that shows at least 2 to 3mm of nacre either side of the bead. Where Baroque even more nacre.
But what is the average nacre thickness of a Tahitian Pearl? And what is the minimum thickness either side of bead before it is okayed by Tahitian regulations?
My ignorance on Tahitian pearls horrifies me.I was recently told that .9mm to 1mm is the normal. Just wondering if this is correct. I had thought it was more than that!!
Guess I have been more into naturals, South Seas and of course being a seller Akoya.
Thanks all in anticipation.
