Thank you so much. What a magical place indeed ! When did you go there ?
I was there with Pearly Shell and JShepherd in September 2007 as part of the GIA Alumni Pearl Tour. Breathtaking! Welcome to the happy club of Marutea Sud travellers!

The World Is My Oyster!
How I wish to visit French Polynesia again. If only to witness a harvest. How special that you did get to see those beautiful pearls being "birthed"!

Awesome ! Thanx for the great links.
Yes, very special experience indeed to dive in the atoll next to the oysters while they are busy creating the pearls. You couldn't experience that with precious stones, could you ? This is what makes pearls so unique to me in the world of jewelry, it is the only gem coming from a living creature. Just like we are.
ì love that quote that i read on this blog : “All art is autobiographical; the pearl is the oyster's autobiography” (Frederico Fellini).
Love the quote!![]()

Momi means pearl in Hawaiian!
Hello Sheryl,
Indeed, I found that quote thanks to you, while browsing through the forum's exchanges (i am still discovering pearl-guide, so rich in contents) !!
Also, I love Fellini's movies too ! so that quote is just perfect.
