Default Custom Birthstone Necklace Finally Completed!

    Hello my P-G Friends!!

I know I've not been around much lately due mostly to the incredible amount of work that's gone into the new website (launching soon! cross your fingers for us!), but I wanted to swing by and show off a custom piece that I finished last week that's been a month or two in the making...

I posted one of these necklaces last year- it was actually a necklace and earring set, and one of our own P-Ger's quietly contacted me to get started on a similar piece, but with her own personal take on it- I think you'll agree, we came out with some pretty amazing results!

The necklace and bracelet pictured below consist of our Elite Collection Freshwater pearls, 8.5-9.0mm in a Silver-Rose hybrid overtone. The gemstone "clusters" feature a mix of precious and semi-precious gems that represent the client, her brothers and sisters, their children and her father; the necklace and bracelet are to be given this weekend at a special party to commemorate her parent's 50th Anniversary.

The clasps are 14K Diamond Pave ball clasps, that will allow her to modify the necklace and bracelet from separate pieces to one single, seamless necklace that measures approximately 25 1/2-inches when combined.

Found it- here is the older thread: http://www.pearl-guide.com/forum/pea...lace-idea.html
Guess I need to come up with something new, huh?

Still contemplating making these pieces a "Build Your Own" type deal, but not sure if the goldsmith I work with would go for it- we'll see

I am going to have to get a rain check from ya'll on the Ruckus this year- I'll be out of town at a family get-together they've been planning for months, so not showing up is not an option lol! But do post lots of gorgeous, glittery party pics for me and tell everyone I said hello! Mostly, just have a great time you two!!!!

It is a great design, the gems add such a nice touch! Each gem can be different, so it has endless possibilities.

Great design! Are the gemstone clusters double sided?

I wish! That would actually be the best way to do the design I think- more stable around the neck, etc., but the goldsmith didn't bring that up until he was finished setting everything... :/ But the client can always send it back for a re-setting later on and we'll both drive the goldsmith crazy lol!

Goldsmiths are always claim you drive them crazy but the truth is they love the challenge.
