Default Designer ideas...please? For another pearl from the "stolen" pearls

I have a pearl from the same batch from which Jeremy designed the one with the pink sapphires. I want a six or 8 prong setting, like a flower, preferably in silver, for mine. No other stones. It resides in my treasure chest until I find a designer.

Here is the inspiration for the setting I like. This is one of Dawn's pearl rings. I love it, and I want a similar setting for my special pearl.

Here are some photos. It is a button pearl from the top. It tapers a bit on the bottom.

The color is closest to the third photo. It is 11mmx 10.75 x 8mm deep

    Hi Caitlin,

Love your pearl, love my ring naturally - but I feel as if I have come into the middle of a discussion. What was the link to Jeremy's ring. And what was the original link.

What kind of pearl is yours?

I am still trying to decide whether or not to keep that (that you used as a desired setting) ring. It is so beautiful and an antique pearl .. love the setting too. I might list a couple of other antique pearl items in the next week. Antique pearl pendant or two. It is so hard to part with them though.

I already have listed a Mississippi Pearl Bracelet as it is not Australian and distinctly American it is easier for me to part with it. Have it in my shop but will probably move it over to Auctions this week.

It is either that or should I part with my very best akoya pearls or part with a couple of my antique pearls. Hard decision. After being deciding to part with all but a couple of my antique pearls I have found it is much harder to do than saying. Especially on eBay. Ugg. Everyone wants a bargain (me too) ... and are rarely prepared to pay a fair price.

    Hi Caitlin - again,

Why do you want a silver setting instead of gold. Is it price or that you prefer silver?

I find that when I list silver items they get very little interest on eBay, that is, people know they can get gold at pretty good prices on eBay so will not pay a reasonable price for Silver and I love designing with it. It is a real pain. Actually I have been designing a few pieces with silver this weekend. I love them but ... will other people.

Caitlin chose that ring from the same batch that this one came out of.

I brought them to Mexico to get Caitlin and Blaire's opinion of a new kind of metallic - baroque metallics that I've started calling color-changing because the colors change dramatically depending on the angle from which they are viewed. The ring looks green and gold from one angle, purple from another and pink from the side.

Blaire is coming to Los Angeles today, so she is the first to get to see it!

    Hi Jeremy, Caitlin and all,

They look like beautiful pearls and I am presuming that they are freshwater. These days is seems we have some many absolutely stunning FW pearls that are available to us if we look carefully.

They are truly beautiful as so many Fw pearls are now. How long will it be before the prices equal the beauty and the quality, versus Freshwater or Saltwater?

I changed my mind. Those photos are from three different angles. I think they all show colors in the pearl!

They are tissue-nucleated freshwater pearls from China. So pretty and not unlike the top color souffle' pearls. Yummy! Caitlin's pearl is also a color-shifting pearl like Jeremy's, but mine is less so. It's yellow with orange overtones.

Here is my pearl from the batch, surrounded by a Madama akoya strand...

More gorgeous pearls. Love them all. Love your gold one GemGeek.

Caitlin, I prefer gold myself but silver is beautiful too and much under-rated. Only problem is cleaning around pearls set with silver.

Jeremy, that is one gorgeous pearl. I feel like I could fall into it. It has such depths to it. Blaire is one hell of a photographer too. Thought it was beautiful from the photo you put up but Blaire's photo of it blows yours out of the water.

Wow - all round to these stunning pearls.
