    Default Fishtail pearls?

The maker of this bracelet told me they were fishtail pearls. Until I found this forum, I had never heard of flameball pearls either, is it a similar thing? They are quite lustrous, but have a fair bit of surface 'disturbance', with a faint pink blush. About 8mm (without the tail).
So what do you think they are? Please also note Bernadette's beautiful stringing.

Hi purlgurl - these are nucleated pearls - at around 8mm it seems more likely that they are akoyas rather than freshwater.. FW that are nucleated (like fireballs, but lots of rounder nucleated FW are showing up now) are usually larger, but they do look like FW to me.
Nice bracelet, and yes, nicely strung!!

Bernadette beat me, but they look like the natural colored baroque akoyas Jeremy had back when. The nacre is piled up at one end. I think it is a distinctive look as I have only seen it in akoyas.
