Default Great LEATHER AND PEARLS DESIGNS!

    Hello fellow pearls,
I just received these bracelets in the mail today and I am very excited about them. They are made by a friend of mine, Claudia Quiroz from Mexico. She hand weaves goat leather with Tahitian pearls to create these very durable and unique pieces. I have one myself and I wear it often (it is very comfortable) and have received many many compliments on it. As a pearl wholesaler I have seen my fair share of pearl jewelry designs. I find these a refreshing mix.
Thought I might share these with the group.
    Blessings to you all,
    Sarah

Those are wonderful! They have a really nice feeling to them, I can tell by just looking. I love all things that feels genuine, are handmade and have a lot of hours working on them behind.

    Great job.

Thanks for posting this. The pearl and leather jewelry really will appeal to the non-traditional jewelry fan.

Love the loop closure bracelet on the right and sadly didn't find one, but I couldn't pass up a Quiroz Tahitian bracelet like the one above and a cuff with no pearls.

Might become gifts, but I can't wait to try them on.

Lauren, Thanks for finding a link to Claudia's bracelets. Hope you enjoy them. She is very talented, and pleasant. I will post a photo of the necklace she made for me as well. I love the wide braided leather too!

Wow! I just saw the ones you added to the Kojima site. The pearls are much nicer than the ones on the Golden Bear bracelets I linked to (no surprise there!) but I don't find their gnarliness makes me dislike the bracelet. Might just mean I need more than one.

The leather band is, as you said, very comfortable. Some dye came off onto my wrist during the first wearing-- let me know if there's something I should do to prevent that, otherwise I just assume it'll settle down in time.

Any chance you'll be carrying a narrow version, like the one on the right in your top photo? It's gorgeous.

Don't forget to post necklace pics!

Lauren, Here are a few photos of the necklace from Claudia Quiroz. Thanks for the reminder! It is a similar style to the single strand bracelet. I love this piece. I got tonnes of compliments on it this weekend (with a little black sundress and ribbons in my braids to offset the dark punk rock effect). The larger Tahitian pearl is one that I gave her special to make this piece, and I love the way that there is one random bit of silver chain.
I am looking forward to see what Claudia will make next! I know she is very busy with her new line.
I am sorry to hear that the leather bled a bit. I did not have that issue at all.. mmm I will ask to Claudia about that. I wear my bracelets constantly. I am sure that will go away with a little time.
Will I have the pleasure of meeting you in L.A. this July for the pearl ruckus conference? Maybe we can arrange a punk rock pearl fashion show?
    Blessings and fun to you!
