Default My pistachio pearl actually glows!

Guess what? Today while I was sitting the car I noticed that there was a glow surrounding my pistachio pearl ring. I took a closer look and saw that the pearl was reflecting sunlight! It was about 3 mm high off of the pearl. The glow consisted of hundreds (thousands) little light reflections bouncing off the pearl. Well, just had to share that with out. It was amazing.

Sounds great. Did you originally purchase the loose pearl or the finished ring? Do you think you could capture the optics on camera?

I bought the pearl already mounted on a ring. My husband is excited about some new macro equipment he just got. Let's see if I can convince him to try photographing it. Ciao!

We tried yesterday to photograph the glow but the sun wasn't strong enough. We'll keep trying.

It ought to be a Tahitian pearl.

    Default Pistachio ...

I hate Hong Kong people and some Indian people....
Now they have pistachio dyed pearls... using the same process than the Chocolate pearls.

Let's hope Mist gets a good photo of that glow, which one must assume would not be a native property of dyed pearls.

Sorry - didn't realise that most pistachio coloured pearls are Tahitian. Now it makes sense. Still learning.

Waiting eagerly to see the glow.

Marama, I can understand that you are anguished in these trying times...but I suppose the Hong Kong people and the Indians are also trying to make a living! "Hating" them is not going to solve anything!

Mist - thanks for keeping on trying! Am sending positive vibes your way so that the sun shines brightly enough at your end to evoke the glow out of your pearl!
