Default (Fake) pearls in Dessous Autumn 2008:

Now pearls are getting popular in dessous as well. I saw a young girl with a perfect figure modelling some dessous with pearls. They looked breathtakingly, perhaps not quite easy to wear when riding a bicycle though, as on one of the lace trousers the pearls were going all the way(double strand)from the back to the front and sitting on them couldnīt be too comfortable - still the combination lace, silk and pearls is unbeatable....

    Hi Inge,

Now that is a term I haven't heard before, "dessous", nor encountered in my 1 year of high school French (pitiful). I guess I can use my imagination!!?? Any photos available?

dessous=ladies' underthings. i, too, have seen many pearl-embellished undergarments of late...andres sarda, myla, madame v, the bracli lace-and-pearl pieces. not to sure how i feel about pearl trimmed panties, but i like the bras

!Thank you sooooo much, Inge and Elisa! I get it now! Very interesting! Certainly genuine pearls are not so expensive that they could not be used, and could survive hand washing--------at a recent gem show John Tu had small baroques for $2 a strand, great lustre----------

Those myla ones are a sacriledge! Imagine doing that to real pearls! Not to mention, how often would they have to be restrung?
Okay, okay, maybe I am getting too old for this, but I still like satin with pearls on the front.
    I'm all about comfort okay?

WHOA!! I am laughing so hard I am falling off my chair! Those are AMAZING! And beautifully done!! I wonder if they use detolon (polyester), silk or flexible cable wire for stringing?????? Perhaps I should email them and find out? This should enliven the weekend reading on P-G!!

Those myla ones have been about for years - since the pearl thing started and popped up on Sex and the City
