Thumbs up My Experience w/ PurePearls.com

I ordered a strand of Tahitian baroque pearls from PurePearls.com as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. I have never ordered pearls online before, but thought I would give this company a try--after all, Amanda Raab, the young CEO, is apparently doing what I wish I would have had the courage to do when I was younger--take a risk, and start a business involving something I love--pearls! The pearls are absolutely gorgeous, full of color, and display fine luster and lots of orient--I'm a recent GIA Pearls Graduate and must say the strand is exactly as described. What a pleasure to do business with a small, woman-owned company that delivers what it advertises. The pearl strand was described accurately, delivery was very fast, and the presentation was as I would have expected from a top-line jewelry boutique--except I paid a whole lot less! I plan to order a pair of Tahitian pearl earrings as a stocking stuffer and look forward to being a customer of PurePearls.com for the longterm. (BTW, this is my first time posting a message on any forum--it took me some time to get this far--I'm not very computer literate--but I wanted others to know about my positive experience with this company.)

    Hi Bonnyweepearl,

Welcome, and thanks for the great story! We all would like Tahitians in our stockings! We have a lot of fun here, learn a lot, etc------and plenty of us struggle with the computer------

To post photos (and we'd love to see them), click the "Go Advanced" button. On the page that comes up, there is a section called Additional Options. Under the subsection Attach Files, you'll see a button to click to Manage Attachments. Click that.

A window will pop up with a button to "Choose file". Pick a file (a photo) from your computer, then Upload, and when it is uploaded, you can Preview Post if you wish, then Submit Reply.

I size my photos smaller for this purpose-- 600 x 600 max, I believe.

That all sounds complicated but it really isn't after you've done it once or twice!

    Hi Bonnyweepearl,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I had been lurking on and off here for over a year before I registered and started posting. I have learned so much from this forum (thanks to Jeremy, Kevin, Caitlin and all those involved). I also like to see pictures of our members' pearls. I look at the pictures and compare them to our long-time experts' comments (to see the orient, the shapes, etc). This is how I learn, in addition to reading the reference materials on the site. I was also very hesitant about ordering online. Our members who posted their own experiences, whether good or bad, with various vendors helped ease my fear and make decisions from whom to order. So... thank you for sharing your own experience. You are doing our new members and members-to-be great favors, just like how others have helped me here.

    Please do post pictures.
    Cathy

    Bonnyweepearl,
Welcome to the Forum! You'll find this is a great place to learn more and to share photos of favorite pearls. Glad your first experience buying pearls online was a good one.

    Hi Michele,

Thank you so much for the compliments- I really liked the 1501 strand too, the colors were just so saturated! I have a stock photo that I can share so everyone on the forum can see the fun shapes and colors- I hope you don't mind!
