Just had a few new designs strung up and I'm curious to hear any feedback.
Is there on you prefer over the other, if so why?

I only like the last one, but if you have modelled shots it might be different. The first two look a bit harsh.

Hi Kevin,
Hi Kevin,
Think I prefer the middle one somewhat, although all look lovely--feel the proportion of black and white is very very nice-----looks like the blacks in all pieces have great lustre--and of course, this is just my opinion. Next fav would be the 2 pearls alternating colors. In person, could be a whole different story??!!
Hi Kevin,
To toss in yet another opinion: The crispness is a great appeal of the combination. I like the first two - mostly because I imagine wearing them and the accent that the black pearls in front would have for the way the necklace sits around the wearer's neck.
Free-associating on black and white, though - what about a double or triple necklace with one strand black and one (or two) white? You could use smaller pearls and get a big impact.
*on size in the strands, I definitely like the way the black pearls are weightier in the second one. The hierarchy helps the composition to my eye.

great to hear feedback, positive or negative. I know they aren't going to be for everyone but I wanted to string up something a little different then the norm.
I like the idea of a triple strand with white and black pearls, that could be a real head turner Heidi. I have a large amount of 6-7mm blacks on hand so maybe some triples or quads are in order. Thanks for the idea.
Oh forgot to mention the above are all just AA+ sub $150 strands, not museum pieces by any means just something fun and different.

Kevin,
PS: Glad you like the idea!
They are too busy for me, but I really like mixing black and white. I'd love to see the black and white pattern of #2 repeated. This is where I think spacers really help, I'd like to see all white with a nice bigger black set off by spacers in the middle. Or black with spacers (roundels, whatever) stationed through the necklace. But, that's just my style!![]()

Momi means pearl in Hawaiian!
Personally, I don't like themI like the second one, but I think it'd look better if they were all the way around instead of just the font section. How big are they?

(Nothing so glamorous as pearls, sadly)
I don't care for the black + white combination, at least not in a photo. It would be interesting to see them on a model, though.
My 2p and personal preferences etc. etc...
I am not keen on them as I won't be able to wear anything with a pattern or multicolour near them, as it would look too busy for my liking.
This means I can only wear plain colour at the top, which is not always practical. For example, my summer wardrobe consists entirely of Hawaiian shirts in bold colours and prints, and I won't be able to wear any of these with my shirts!
This is one of the reasons why I do not like multicoloured strands.
The first (top) strand looks imbalance to me as it is, the contrast is too stark if you know what I mean.
The second (middle) strand looks kind of weird with different size pearls, again, imbalanced. I believe it may work better if the Tahitians are the same size as the CFWP, and lighter in colour instead.
The third (bottom) strand is the only that appeals to me on first glance. It looks balanced, the colour contrast between the pearls less stark, and I can imagine wearing this against a plain coloured top, if I have any!

i am not a huge fan of 1 and 2... my pearls often shift a bit throughout the day, so keeping them properly centered would be a pain. i second callire-- why not try one that alternates all the way around (and perhaps make them uniform in size)? i have seen some like that that are very pretty.
I would like to have 5 in the centre, either black with the whites on the sides or whites with black ones on the side.
# 1 is OK, # 3 could be but the difference in # 2 is too harsh, both size and different colour...
Gosh, if I had to choose one out of the 3, it would be #2. I think gold spacers between the black and whites at the front only would soften it a little, but the difference in the sizes of the pearls would not be a problem for me visually.
Also, the slight extra weight of the blacks and spacers might keep the necklace hanging more to the front. But I touch my pearls constantly throughout the day, and delight in turning them "forward".
