    Hi Caitlin,

I put that up a bit earlier on the Pollution in China thread.

    Caitlin:
Thanks for posting this. I must have missed it the first time around. I have only two or three thoughts on this at this time.
    1) Someone like Jeremy or Kevin will be much better placed to have an informed opinion than me. Maybe we could get Kathy bear or Wendy to weigh in. Or Josh.
    2) There is a lot of CFW cr** on the market. Less pollution and more quality control is a great thing.
    3) I'm not in favor of CFW pearls EVER being the same price as WSS or CI or Tahitians. Maybe some special variant not yet known.

At the risk of sounding naive; what ever happened to the good of the common man/woman? I thought the Chinese considered themselves communist.
    Sheesh. A little moderation please.

My thought is that as pearl prices are expected to come back up soon, we should quickly fly over to china and have a shopping spree! Call it an investment as the price is due to go up.

My impression is that quality has come up - so that great lustre rounds are more plentiful. Maybe rounds will be cheap and potatoes will cost $$$ a strand. There may well be too many producers now jostling for position but un-communist market forces will sort that

I've noticed a definite rise in quality (price too, but worth it). My last parcel was all untreated metallics. All gloroius.

I knew there was a reason I buy loose pearls like a mad thing.
