Pearls in Thailand

I'm not quite sure where this belongs...

I am currently living in Bangkok and interested in the opportunity to buy/view pearls in Bangkok. I did a search on the Internet for trade shows/pearl districts but didn’t find much. I did find that there are some farms in the southern island area. Does anyone have any more information for me? I am not in business; this is strictly a personal interest.

Tod is a good friend of my sister and he's a jewelry designer in Bangkok. I think he might be able to point you to the right direction. depends, you have to specify what you want to buy, South Sea, Akoya or Tahiti pearls or Chinese fresh water pearls
