Pearls in an ultra sonic

Anyone ever tried cleaning their pearls in the ultra sonic, without any chemicals?

I was thinking maybe it would be OK with just salt in the water.

Ultra-sonic cleaners are never recommended for softer gems like pearls. I would not suggest taking the chance with yours, even using regular water. Just stick to the tried and true damp cloth method. If it is available to you, an occasional polish can really bring out the shine in your pearls as well.
